Ami Toruga isn't a person that one would likely pick out from a crowd. Standing just shy of six and a half feet, Ami has a rather pale skin color, suited for more of a bookworm or a nerd than one who spends a lot of time outdoors. With this sheltered lifestyle, she is well kept, her face only marred with the occasional zit or blemish. With flat brown eyes, the darkness of which approaches the pupil, it can be easy for Ami to appear bored even if it is not her actual emotion. Her hair is a deep brown, dyed slightly with a red undertone. It is left to hang as it will minus a white band near the top of the head, reaching just below her shoulder-blades.

Ami's wardrobe tends to vary depending on the situation, but, as a traveling Pokemon Trainer, she can only keep around a set amount of outfits. Her casual wear, that is, what she wears to look nice in a city, tends to be similar to what it looks in the picture: a yellow blouse with a white collar around the neck, an optional red ribbon completing the attire, coupled with either jeans or a simple red or black skirt. In the wilderness, this wardrobe changes depending on the situation, usually with a simple green or blue shirt coupled with a simple pair of jeans, which may alternate with shorts should the weather call for it. Given cold, Ami may wear a light blue jacket with the same jeans, or a thick, yellow winter jacket with black snowpants and thick snowshoes. Hey, its ugly, but who cares when you're warm?

PERSONALITY

Personality-wise, Ami Toruga is your simple go-getter and eager young Pokemon Trainer. With ambition to become a Pokemon Researcher (but with it being far too early in her career to know exactly what she wants to do with that field), she has a fascination with Pokemon in a far more scientific sense than most (hell, the Noctus are fascinating to her... not that she would like to see one in person). She loves to sight-see and to explore, but despises the consequences that come with it: sure, she'll be ready for a hike, but tents are just something she can't work with. Ami simply can't pretend to be comfortable out in the middle of nowhere, regardless of the crowd she ends up keeping...

Despite her more 'analytical' fascination with Pokemon, Ami Toruga is not one to turn down a good battle. If it is against a normal wild or another trainer, Ami focuses solely on the situation at hand, attempting to block everything else out of her mind. This focus ends up as a double-edged sword, as it is all-too-common for Ami to get locked onto one complex move or tactic that, if it backfires, it backfires big-time.

Ami Toruga is one who is fascinated with Pokemon, and as such, she finds it easy to get along with most other pokemon, as well as relate to trainers and the like. Sure, she may have a slight shy streak against certain 'off-putting' personalities, but she'll always give a person a chance; it is hard to get on Ami Toruga's bad side, unless you're some kind of violent jerk. Then, of course, she'll fight back in spades.

HISTORY

Ami Toruga was born to a rather average family in Montague city, her mother being an assistant at a local Pokemon daycare, her father having an office-job in the city. For the earlier years in her life, her mother would take her out to the daycare to associate with the more gentle and friendly compatriots of the daycare, while her mother would tend to the several Raticates who needed constant reminders that the edges of their cage need not be chewed through. Perhaps it was this early encouragement in her life that caused Ami to become fascinated with Pokemon.

As the early years of school went on, Ami found herself continuously volunteering at the daycare, being entrusted with more and more responsibilities as the years went on, from feeding to watering, to eventually being entrusted with claw-clipping around the age of thirteen. In a sense, she had grown up with a few pokemon for several years, and her fascination with them and biology in school facilitated her desire to want to become a researcher.

Ami took a year of preparatory classes at Montague University. At this magnificent establishment, the young girl had her first experiences truly learning about the fascinations of pokemon, from the basics of poke-ball and apricorn technology to the aspects of the infamous "pokerus" virus, and its similarities and dissimilarities to the current Noctus pandemic. With this training set in mind, Ami set out for Featherwing City to obtain her starter pokemon, and to set out on this grand journey to discover her own potential. With this grand adventure before her... well, who knows what will befall her?
