NEXIVUS BATTLE SYSTEM
♥ Your pokemon will gain experience whether you lose or not.
♥ If you win a WILD POKEMON battle, your pokemon will gain ONE level. If you lose, you get 0.5 of a level.
♥ If you win a TRAINER battle, your pokemon will gain TWO levels. If you lose, you will still gain ONE level. Simple.
♥ There will be special rewards if you manage to defeat a NOCTUS pokemon - but don't expect to win.
♥ If you wish, your pokemon will heal automagically when recalled due to a Lux Corp. Healing Device implanted in every pokeball. However, this cannot be used during battles. If your pokemon faints, you cannot withdraw it and then send it out again immediately afterwards. If your pokemon faints, it cannot battle again until the fight is won or lost.
♥ You will lose occasionally. Use these loses to help develop your characters, no one wins all the time in the real world. And your level 15 clefairy won't defeat that level 39 machamp. (Unless you have a seriously good strategy.)
♥ Pokemon CAN die if their injuries are severe enough. Most 'severe injuries' can be healed by the nurses at Pokemon Centers - providing you get there in time. (If you have an severely injured pokemon, you must BACKTRACK to the nearest pokemon center and work your way back to where you are.)

NEXIVUS BATTLE SYSTEM
There are several techniques you may use in battle.
♥ You may use one offensive (an attack that does damage; such as Tackle, Bite or Flamethrower.) and one defensive (an attack that doesn't do damage; such as Tail Whip, Hypnosis or Stun Spore) move.
♥ You may use one healing/protecting move (like Synthesis/Recover or Protect/Detect) per turn [they count as defensive moves], but you may only use them TWICE during a battle.
♥ You may dodge but it will count as one of your moves. However, it can be either offensive or defensive - it's up to you. So, if you want to dodge an attack and retaliate with Stun Spore you can. Or you can dodge and FLAMETHROWER THE SHIT OUT OF THEM. You may not dodge more than two attacks in a row.
♥ You may use an item, any item, on your pokemon during a turn, but that will be the only thing you can do. You can use as many as you want during battle.
♥ You can also switch pokemon during battle, giving them all a percentage of the EXP. This counts as one of your moves (like dodge, it can be either offensive or defensive) so you may use another attack.
♥ Of course, if you'd rather keep it simple, you don't have to use two moves a turn. It's your choice.

STATUSES full credit and gratitude to POKEMON ANRUI for this awesome system, with mild alterations by kitty for NEXIVUS. ♥ Burn: The burn inflicts some damage each turn. It will hurt those who are weak to fire more than those resistant. Will only be healed during the battle with a Burn Heal or Rawst Berry. ♥ Freeze: The pokemon that is frozen cannot move or attack in any way. They will thaw naturally in 3 turns just to simplify things. If the pokemon is weakened against ice, the turn pass will be upped to 4. ♥ Paralysis: You can't attack for 2 turns. If the pokemon is weakened against electric, the turn pass will be upped to 3. ♥ Poison: It gradually lowers the pokemon's health until it faints. You'll be stuck with this throughout the entire battle. Your only choice would be to use an Antidote or Pecha Berry to get rid of it. Pokemon super effected by poison will have more energy that is lowered. Your pokemon will generally last no longer than 4-5 turns when poisoned. ♥ Badly Poisoned: Same deal as the above, but this time, the energy that is lost gradually increases throughout the turn. That means that the longer your pokemon is badly poisoned, the quicker your pokemon will faint. You should definitely have an Antidote or Pecha Berry handy in case this happens. Attacks that give such a status are Poison Fang, Toxic, and Toxic Spikes. Your pokemon will general las no longer than 2-3 turns when Badly Poisoned. ♥ Sleep: Your pokemon will be asleep for 3 turn passes. If the Early Bird ability is in play, it cuts down to 2 turn passes. ♥ Attract: If the gender of the pokemon isn't opposite to yours when the attack Attract is used, it won't work. If your pokemon is affected, it will endure 3 turn passes. ♥ Confusion: The pokemon afflicted will not be able to attack OR will attack itself (it's your choice, really) for 2 turn passes. Alternatively, if you are fighting a mod-controlled pokemon, you can attack and they will flip a coin. (Other members are welcomed to do this if they feel they can be trusted. ;) ) ♥ Curse & Perish Song: The pokemon afflicted lose 1/4 of its health each turn, regardless of the type (there are NO exceptions to this attack). To simplify, we'll say the affected pokemon will faint in 3 turn passes. There is no method of healing, except to switch it out. Also, take note that PERISH SONG will affect ALL pokemon in battle and Curse will not. ♥ Severely Injured: If an attack is SEVERE, you'd better run like fuck to the nearest pokemon centre. Items like potion MAY give you more time, but only trained nurses know how to heal severe injuries.

EVOLUTION
♥ If a pokemon evolves via level-up, then they may do so at any point after reaching that level.
♥ Evolution stones make certain pokemon evolve. Simple.
♥ Pokemon that evolve by ONLY trading (kadabra, machoke, haunter, graveller) have two options: they either be traded or given the item "Link Cable" to hold.
♥ Pokemon that evolve by holding an item and being traded only need to be given the item. So, you would just have to purchase/find a Metal Coat and give it to your Scyther to get a lovely new Scizor.
♥ TM based evolutions require the specific TM, which can be bought from the TM shop.
♥ Happiness evolutions are slightly different... A pokemon must have 10 hearts ( ♥ ) in order to evolve via happiness. Newly caught pokemon start out at zero hearts. If you befriend a pokemon before catching it, it may go up to one or two hearts. Hearts can be given for various things - winning battles, given items/berries or playing together with you in Sweetheart Park's pokemon playground. They can also lose them for being treated badly.
