HOMETOWN
Violet City - Johto
APPEARANCEEmile is hardly the most intimidating boy to come face-to-face with. He stands 5'5 at the tip of his head and he's not very athletic either (but having travelled a lot naturally negates this quite a bit) instead being rather pudgy but by no means fat.
He has eye length brown hair that he usually has to flick out of his eyes because he refuses to have it cut.
His body itself is rather gangly despite his overall stature being small; a trait he never really lost from puberty. His typical clothing is smart but casual, jeans and a shirt usually - not too fancy but enough to keep what needs to be kept in. His eyes have been a constant problem most of his life and thus he wears glasses - again, nothing too fancy, simple black rimmed things that don't stand out as 'nerd' glasses.
His face isn't quite round but neither is it slender, it sits somewhere in the middle of both spectrums and he has (very rarely) been called handsome because of it, yet he isn't one to think so himself.
He also typically has some sort of pad on his left shoulder for a while made from leather so that new additions to his team (he specializes in Bird-type Pokemon) get used to riding upon his shoulder, which means he typically stands out in a crowd for having it on. Eventually however, he takes it off when it isn't needed anymore.
PERSONALITYAlthough you could cut the cliche with a rather large knife, due to where he grew up, Emile loves Bird Pokemon - which is why almost all of those he travelled with previously where birds, although this wasn't an exclusive deal. As such, you'll typically see the boy with some sort perched on his shoulder like a statue.
Around others, Emile is reserved yet friendly, a very odd mix. He'll warm up to you quickly but he's also not one for 'rough and tumble' type friendships and would rather settle down to a good book than go out on adventures, yet everything grows better with time and he's been on the road now since his tenth birthday, with only four months total where he's settled for various reasons.
While Emile looks the part of a bookworm - which again, he is - he also loves to battle and find out new strategies to do so (you'd be surprised how much you can do with a few Pokemon who have wings). While he's quick on his mental feet, he's also prone to getting very emotional when his plans fall through or someone he cares about is injured (it can make him aggressive which isn't exactly a pretty site).
As noted, to Emile his friends and Pokemon are everything. He'd do anything for them and he hates to see them in any way nothing but happy - the one death he's suffered with his team broke his heart into so many pieces it took nine weeks to convince him to carry on with his journey.
HISTORYEmile set out on his journey not for the aspect of being the greatest Pokemon master Johto had ever seen; instead he simply wanted to get away from his town and see what the world had to offer in as many regions as he could. With his Pidgey perched firmly on his shoulder he trekked from peak to peak catching Pokemon and battling trainers from far away lands; experiences he could have never gotten simply going from place to place for badges.
These early days where never the best for him; he often got lost on his journey or caught a nasty virus. He spent more time in the pokemon centers than on the road for a while but eventually he started getting things (however slightly) going in his favor. His Pidgey too evolved rather early on and this gave him a slight advantage and allowed him to boost his confidence enough that he'd go out and SEEK people to battle him; no matter how shady. Those he won he won, those he lost he reflected on and learned new ways to win.
From Johto he explored Kanto (though that journey was cut short with news of his Mother falling ill, so he flew back to his town for several weeks until she felt better) and then sailed across the ocean to Sinnoh, but he left after about a week and another capture. The exact reasons he's never said but it is rumored to do with one of his Pokemon being injured by a particularly cruel trainer. After that he fell off the grid for a while but eventually decided to venture to Nexivus to train.---OUT OF CHARACTER

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
The snow parted as something silently ghosted through it with grace unmatched by anything human, each movement placed with pinpoint precision so as to make little sound as possible. Though it was still a fair distance away from the target, there was no sense in being careful. If the Lictor could rationalise this, those would have been its thoughts. But instead, all of this was instinctual, like how a child knows how to breathe immediately. It did not need any training, for the Hive Mind had crafted its form perfectly for the roll required.
However, despite being the perfect form, it was not without flaws. Its design at base had not been changed but to combat the extreme cold and snow it had been outfitted with a thick layer of fat to keep it insulated. However, it needed to feed often to replenish this and naturally keep it as active in this harsh environment. It was not a great challenge, for the Hive Mind had faced worlds such as this a thousand times before – it was a simple matter of passing the required genetic information to the Norn Queen of Hive Fleet Gemini.
The Lictor had landed on the planet a few weeks ago under the guise of a meteor shower, and was left much to its own devices on how to complete the mission – to transmit the outlay of the planet and the prey’s defences. Not a particularly hard task at a basic level, yet it did present a set of challenges. Gaining entry and staying undetected where but two, but the Tyranid could not doubt itself – quite literally, it had no concept of doubt. The native fauna had not proved much of a challenge and provided a source of nourishment. So far, of the target prey it had only seen two armoured vehicles but did not engage them, simply studying and relaying back to the Hive Mind.
Though it was tough to filter information from the brains of certain fauna, the Lictor had managed to disconcert the location of the target, from a distance. It now crouched in a patch of trees opposite a sheer rock face that extended far above where the Lictor now stood. It naturally sought high ground as a vantage point and it knew the target was also far above its own elevation.
Stalking from where it was crouched the large creature crossed the clearing in a few short moments and extended the barbs in its chest. The hooks dug into the rock face of the cliff and slowly, it began to haul itself up the side, using its large claws for support.
