The Rattata had watched the entire battle in disgust. He had managed to harm the Lillipup enough that it should not have been able to battle at all. And then after having lost and captured anyway, the human insisted on healing him instead of mocking him for his weakness! How pathetic! He scoffed and shook his head. Now watching the human approach his garbage can, he found himself becoming even more annoyed that before. His whiskers twitched and he decided instantly that if this boy came anywhere near his dumpster, he would kill it. Then he would think twice about going places he should not be and helping pokemon who deserved what had happened to them in the first place.
As the human and Nidoran approached, he readied himself to attack them and it was only a moment before they were in perfect range to attack. Letting out a vicious cry before springing into action, the Rattata leaped from his garbage can, landing just before the pair in the alleyway. His teeth were bared in a what appeared to be a snarl, his tail raised high. While he was not the biggest pokemon around, he was still dangerous, as shown by his attack on the Lillipup. He planned to do the same to this Nidoran as well. Using a Focus Energy and then his fastest Quick Attack, he aimed for the thing's shoulder, planning to graze it with his teeth as he made contact, hoping to knock it down and at least leave a scratch. He then tried to move back away from the pokemon quickly, waiting for its and the human's response.
{ Off my territory or I'll do the same to you as I did to that mongrel! } Was what it screeched at the Nidoran, giving her a warning as he prepared to spring into action once more. Looking at the human, he made another horrible noise, waiting for it to take another step, in which case he would bypass the pokemon and just go straight for that thing. "Rat Ratta Rattata!" He snarled to Max, repeating the warning he had given to Chikara.

Chikara danced lightly around Max's feet playfully, she loved being out of the pokeball and with him. The dark alleyway didn't scare her, she was confident after her battle win but her muscles were starting to feel more weary after the fight. The alleyway ahead was relatively empty apart from a large dumpster pushed up against the alley's brick wall.
Max approached the dumpster with Chikara as a screech of anger came from behind it. A Rattata jumped out from behind the bin snarling in anger, his teeth bared and tail raised high. Max saw the Rattata crouch, glowing red it was using a focus energy. Moving quickly the rattata was a blur as he began a quick attack. Max was sure he'd never moved more quickly, in an instant he had unclipped Chikara's pokeball and recalled the nidoran. This pokemon was much stronger and Chikara was too tired for another battle.
Max unclipped a different pokeball from his belt and released another of his pokemon. Kaji, his magby, blinked in the light of the outside world before focusing on the rattata. He scowled, focusing on the oponent. "Kaji, use smog to hide yourself," Max ordered, Kaji breathed out a noxious fog of poisonous gas to hide within. "Now, use a thunderpunch!" Kaji's fist crackled with electricity as he sent out a hard thunderpunch towards the Rattata.
Kaji was strong and after recently learning to control his fire attacks he was getting much stronger. This Rattata would be good battle practice for him. Max frowned nervously, it did look strong though.
Chikara returned. Kaji used smog and then thunderpunch.

RATTATA | MALE | LEVEL 09 TACKLE | TAIL WHIP | QUICK ATTACK | FOCUS ENERGY The Rattata had been sure he had hit jackpot as he felt his body lunge forth. However, the Pokemon looked back, only to realise his target had disappeared. What on earth had happened?! With a snarl on contempt, the Rattata turned back to the human and spat, ( What'cha do that weakling, filthy human?! Stop with this cowardly play! ) The Rattata seemed angered with such a low scum like ploy. Imagine, just retreating like the cowards they were! Rattata wouldn't have that, of course. As a brilliant crimson light shone, the Rattata squinted to see the red coloured creature. What on earth was that? He hadn't seen anything quite like it. Still irritable as ever, the Pokemon reared up to attack, only to see the Magby shroud himself in smog. The Pokemon coughed furiously, the foreign air dulling his senses and making it hard to concentrate.
No, no, he couldn't just black out at a time like this! No, he had to fight back. He was certain that the Pokemon would leap from the shadows of the smog attack, and thus, the Pokemon backed away instinctively. Much to his advantage, the Magby had indeed leapt from the earlier attack, only to strike at nothing. Foolish, foolish creature! Oh, this would be fun. The Rattata reacted swiftly, not giving the Magby any time to recover before he lunged at his foe viciously, trying to Tackle the Pokemon down to the ground. Hopefully this would end well, and the Magby would join the heap with the rest of the defeated Pokemon that dared to wander into his territory.

ooc; sorry I didn't realise smog was damage-dealing, I just thought it had a chance of poisoning.
The Rattata seemed clever, he hadn't been fooled by the use of smog to hide Kaji from view and he'd avoided the thunder punch with ease. He was also fast, probably a lot faster than any of the pokemon Max had with him. The Rattata's teeth looked very sharp and Max was eager to avoid any contact between them and his magby.
Kaji blinked in confusion as his thunderpunch made contact with air, rather than with the Rattata. Max was faster to react, "it's fast, Kaji, watch out. Use its tackle to let it get close then use ember." Kaji braced himself for the tackle, he planted his feet so instead of being sent flying he only slid backwards a couple of feet.
Kaji was still a young magby but he'd been practicing his control of fire attacks. Previously, he'd had trouble controlling the force of them so an ember had slipped into an overheat attack as he'd lost control. Opening his mouth he heated up his body, expelling a strong blast. "Well done, Kaji that was a much better ember." Max was pleased with how well his young pokemon was doing, it was a great improvement on sneezing flames which is how he was not long ago.
Kaji seemed pleased with himself too. His eyes glowed red and he glared angrily at the Rattata, daring him to attack again. Kaji had heard the other pokemon insulting his trainer and he wasn't happy. Kaji wanted to win to prove that he was stronger than this wild alley pokemon who seemed so sure of himself. I'll show you who's weak, Kaji threatened, taunting the Rattata. In a way he hoped the other pokemon would keep attacking, he liked a challenge and wanted to win.
Kaji used ember and leer.
