The weather was utterly beautiful.
The day was lovely and warm without a cloud in the sky, bird Pokemon were singing, and there wasn't even a breeze at the moment. Of course, with the weather being so wonderful there was no need for clothes. Sure, every other person Jamila saw was wearing clothing, but they seemed too be too hot. She, however, felt somewhere around the perfect temperature. It was lucky, really, that she had planned to go and a Pokemon on a day this nice. It would of been unfair to force a Pokemon to get to know her while it was pouring with rain.
A breeze started blowing, making her shiver. Jamila wasn't just going to stand there and be cold, however. She broke into a jog, knowing it would help her warm up and get to her destination faster. She did managed to get to the lab in great time, though once she arrive she wasn't so sure it was the right place. She pulled a piece of paper from her bag and looked from the address on the paper to the mailbox. It seemed to be right the right number, but maybe it wasn't the right street. She ran off again, this time to the nearest street sign. No, this was the right place. It didn't really look like a lab.
Deciding not to question it any further, Jamila walked up to the door and began to knock.
((/Failpost. Anyway, may I please reserve a Cubchoo? :3))

NEXIVUS LABORATORIES Professor Hawthorne smiled to herself, a glorious cup of tea held in her hands. Daffodil the Raichu was looking very pleased with herself as she sipped from her own mug. "My dear, this tea is simply delightful!" Hawthorne beamed, peering out of the window next to her desk. It had been placed there so that she could see when new trainers arrived at her quaint little laboratory. However, she now spent an unnatural amount of time staring out of the window and commenting on the weather. "So sunny!" She chimed, "What do you say about closing the Lab for the afternoon and having a lovely picnic outside?" Lilac floated in from one of the back rooms, giving Hawthorne a stern look. { Maria - } She started, but Hawthorne interrupted. "But of course, I have this stupid report to finish." She crossed her arms, looking like a sulking teenager. Lilac rolled her eyes, lifting a lazy arm which glowed with a slight purple hue, causing a pile of papers to organise themselves in midair. Hawthorne squinted at the computer screen in front of her. The Impact of Environmental Factors in the Ecosystem of Boring Boring boring boring... She sighed, pulling a heavy textbook towards her, flicking through the pages until she found a quote that she needed. She began typing, unaware of the curious situation occurring just outside her doors. When the doorbell rang, she hopped up, "Oh, I just can't work with these distractions!" She cried, but she couldn't keep the joy out of her voice. Giving away Pokemon was just so much more interesting than boring essays! Lilac glared at her before rolling her eyes and tidying up the pile of books on Hawthorne's desk. Hawthorne opened the door, an attractive smile fixed on her face. "Hello and welcome to Nexivus Laboratories! I'm Professor Hawthorne and I'll be--" She paused, her visitor's appearance finally sinking in, "Oh, goodness!" Hawthorne shrieked, clutching her chest. She looked away, embarrassed, shuttering, "O-oh my!"She coughed, looking fixedly at a photo-frame on the far wall, her back to the new hopeful trainer. "Um, welcome to the laboratory, h-how can I help you?" She stole a glance at the girl's naked form, " A-are you okay, dear, have you been hurt? D-do you need some clothes or food or- or tea?" Yes, a cup of tea would make whatever horrific event this poor girl had experienced all better. Lilac, who has been staring at the situation with slight bemusement, used her telekineses to pass the girl a lab coat. Daffodil had leapt into action, disappearing into the kitchen to make more tea. "Can I help you, sweetheart?"

Jamila jumped backwards slightly when she heard a cry from inside the house. The shout didn't sound scared - if anything it sounded happy - but it was certainly unexpected. For a moment she wondered if she should go in and talk to whoever it was, though soon realised that breaking into someone's house wasn't a very good thing to do, even if it was a lab. Before she could change her mind, the door burst open, revealing a very pretty woman. For a moment she just stared, taking in the woman's appearance. In fact, she was so busy staring - which was rather rude, she would admit - that she didn't know what the professor was saying until she started spluttering.
"Oh, goodness! O-oh my!"
Anyone else may of been a little bit hurt by the reaction, but, in all honesty, Jamila was used to it. People looking away from her wasn't that unusual. The only thing that bothered her about it, really, was that didn't think she was that ugly. Before she could ask if she looked that bad the professor started to talk again; she had to admit the professor recovered quickly, even if she couldn't look at her.
"Um, welcome to the laboratory, h-how can I help you? A-are you okay, dear, have you been hurt? D-do you need some clothes or food or- or tea?"
Oh. The professor thought that something had happened to her. With an almost inaudible sigh, the nudist took the lab coat from the psychic type and draped it over her body. It was a little scratchy, but she could deal with it until she left, especially since it was clear that the professor was uncomfortable with her. She watched as the electric mouse scurried off, likely to make good on the offer of tea or food.
"Can I help you, sweetheart?"
For a moment, Jamila didn't know what to say. Yes, she wanted a Pokemon, but this woman clearly thought there was something wrong. She wasn't planning to pretend that there was something wrong, but she wasn't sure how to tell her that there wasn't. She tapped tapped her chin for a few moments as she thought, soon coming up with something to say. "No one's hurt me, I just chose to dress like this. Well, not dress, if you'd prefer." It was always awkward trying to explain herself in these situations. "I actually came here for a Pokemon. I'm planning on becoming a trainer and, well, I heard that you give them out so... um, I am in the right place, aren't I?"

NEXIVUS LABORATORIES Hawthorne continued peeking at the girl, determined not to look down. Daffodil returned within a few moments, as the girl pulled on the lab coat, a tray ladened with several cups of tea and a delicious array of cakes balanced above her head. "No one's hurt me, I just chose to dress like this. Well, not dress, if you'd prefer." said the girl, causing Hawthorne to gasp, and then laugh softly. "Oh, you're one of those nudist types? I hope you didn't come all the way from Wetherseed by yourself." Hawthorne took the tray from Daffodil, shoving aside some books with her hip and placing it down. She passed a cup of tea to the Raichu and then took one for herself. She sipped at it, beaming, before hovering her hand over the cakes. She picked up a scone, with jam and cream, and took a bite. "I actually came here for a Pokemon. I'm planning on becoming a trainer and, well, I heard that you give them out so... um, I am in the right place, aren't I?" said the girl, looking slightly worried. "Oh, yes!" Hawthorne said thickly, gulping down her mouthful of scone, "Yes, dear. I'm Professor Hawthorne and I do indeed give out pokemon to those who need them." She smiled kindly, lifting up a bunch of books and pulling open drawers, "Now, where did I put that thing..." She murmured to herself, "Aha!" She pulled out a booklet which contained images and information about each of the Pokemon she gave away as starters. "Have a look at those, sweetheart, and let me know if there's any you like to see." She continued looking through drawers for a few moments, before turning to Lilac with an expression of confusion. Lilac held up a single piece of paper, from a pile that had been on the bookcase. "Ah, thank you, Lilac." Hawthorne took the paper, passing it to the girl, "And those are the current Specials that we have in. Came in just the other day!" She sipped at her tea again, smiling, "Any of those take your fancy, dear?"

"Oh, you're one of those nudist types? I hope you didn't come all the way from Wetherseed by yourself."
Jamila stared blankly for a moment, trying to work out what the professor meant. Soon something clicked with her; maybe most nudists in this region were from this Wetherseed place. A smile reached her lips at the thought, as it clearly meant that there was at least one place where she could be herself, no questions asked. She didn't voice the thought, however, as she really didn't think it mattered where she came from. Instead, she turned her attention towards the cakes and tea. She picked the last cup up and spoke her line about wanting a Pokemon before sipping at the tea.
"Oh, yes! Yes, dear. I'm Professor Hawthorne and I do indeed give out pokemon to those who need them."
The dark haired girl smiled once again - or perhaps not again, but harder - upon hearing those words. She was glad that she had gotten to right house, and not just interrupted some pretty woman's day. Before she could tell the professor of any of this, however, the woman went looking around for something or another. Jamila looked on, puzzled, wondering if she should help. No sooner had she moved forward to try and find whatever it was that the professor was looking for - she thought she'd know it when she saw it - than the professor let out a soft 'aha'.
"Have a look at those, sweetheart, and let me know if there's any you like to see. And those are the current Specials that we have in. Came in just the other day!"
Jamila started looking through the first booklet, only to be handed another piece of paper. Figuring that it would be best not to get her heart set on the specials, she read through the booklet first, seeing a few things that she wouldn't mind starting out with. Though she didn't want have her heart set on anything, she also didn't want to make a rash decision, and, as such, she read the piece of paper as well. It was there that a certain Pokemon had caught her eye. It look something like a Teddiursa, but at the same time so much different. She stared at the picture for a moment, read the name, and then looked up at the professor with a smile.
"Any of those take your fancy, dear?"
"Do you have any Cubchoo's left? If you don't, that's fine, but they're really cute!" She didn't notice that the labcoat was wide open, leaving her almost as good as naked.

NEXIVUS LABORATORIES The Professor smiled as the girl looked through the booklet carefully. It hadn't been terribly cheap to get them printed and so many trainers just flicked through, looking at the pictures and just picking one of the first ones they'd looked at. It was nice to see someone taking the time to make an informed decision . "Do you have any Cubchoo's left? If you don't, that's fine, but they're really cute!" Hawthorne beamed, "Oh, yes we do! We have three of those little cuties at the moment - I'll just go an--" She faltered as she noticed the lab coat was wide open, leaving nothing to the imagination. She coughed slightly, continuing in a higher pitch as she looked almost fiercely at Jamila's face, "-And fetch them for you!" She disappeared quickly, leaving the Gardevoir to keep an eye on the new trainer. She came back after a few moments, a semi-transparent plastic bag hanging from her arm and three pokeballs in her hands. She placed the balls on her desk, passing the bag of items to the girl. "That's the starter pack we give out, just so you have some items in case anything bad happens." She picked up the three pokeballs, which had stickers on the front to distinguish between them all. "Cubchoo are adorable, aren't they? As an ice type, they're one of the few types that can stand up to dragons." She released one of them, "This little guy is a nervous little pokemon. He's absolutely lovely when you get to know him, but he can be a little untrusting at first." Hawthorne explained as the Cubchoo looked up at the scary, half-naked lady and scrambled to hide behind Hawthorne's leg. She laughed slightly, before releasing the next. "This is our only female Cubchoo, and she's definitely a feisty one. She loves battling and she can be very independent." The female looked up at the trainer before losing interest and leering strangely at the other male. "And lastly, this male is a very friendly little guy. He loves, er, cuddles and being made a fuss of but most of the time he's quite relaxed and easy going." She smiled down at all three of the Cubchoos, before looking up at Jamila. She blinked and averted her gaze upwards, "Do any of them take your fancy?"

Jamila watched as the professor left, grinning like a mad woman. It was fantastic that the Pokemon she wanted most out of those presented to her was available. Even better that she had some choices! As she waited, her gaze drifted toward Lilac. Gradevior was a rather nice Pokemon, all elegant looking and pretty. It would be nice if she could get one, eventually, but if she couldn't it wouldn't be a reason to cry; she would certainly still have a team of amazing Pokemon.
Before the nudist really had much time to ponder her future team, the professor was back.
"That's the starter pack we give out, just so you have some items in case anything bad happens."
The black haired girls eyes widened slightly, the bulk off the smile falling for her face. Bad things happened in training? After a moment of consideration she realised that they must, after all, she was going to be making Pokemon fight. As the Pokemon were released, Jamila pushed the thought to the back of her mind, instead concentrating on which one she wanted. She paid attention ti their reactions, trying to decide which would be best for her. Three almost identical Pokemon, all with very different reactions.
The one that was hiding from her probably wouldn't be the best to choose. If her Pokemon was terrified of her then it probably wouldn't care too much for battling. Sure, battling wasn't all there was to being a trainer - or at least, she didn't think it was - but it was a fairly important part.
The next Cubchoo seemed like she might be better. A love of battling would be sure to help her in her journey. After only a few seconds, however, the ice type stopped paying attention to her. Jamila dismissed the idea of taking this one almost right away; she wanted a friend, not a weapon.
The last one seemed different. He was staring up her with large, happy eyes, looking as though she had made his day just by being there. Not understanding what the professor meant about 'friendly' she didn't know just why he looked so pleased to see her. She smiled down at the Pokemon, cooing softly to him. "Aren't you a cutie?" She turned her attention toward the professor. "Can I have this little fella, please? It looks like he's taken a liking to me already."

NEXIVUS LABORATORIES
Hawthorne picked up the shy Cubchoo and he giggled sweetly, obviously fond of the Professor. Yes, it was always sad to give away the pokemon she'd become attached to, but it was for good reason. The bond between trainer and their starter was nearly always a special one and it was lovely to be able to give people that pleasure. She glanced at Lilac as she thought this and smiled. "Can I have this little fella, please? It looks like he's taken a liking to me already." asked the girl, cooing to the last of the three she'd revealed. Hawthorne gave a laugh and a knowing smile, "Ah, yes, I'm sure he has." She returned the other two pokemon to their spherical homes and placed them a her desk. She'd put them away later. "Alright, all you need to do is fill in this quick form and you're all sorted." She said, pulling through her desk drawers again before handing her a piece of paper and a pen. It was full of simple questions, name, date of birth, contact number and chosen starter... "It won't take a moment but it's one of those tedious things we have to do." She pulled a face, "We have to keep organised, you know?" She picked up the chosen Cubchoo's pokeball, returning the creature inside and handing it to Jamila. "It was a pleasure to meet you and I'm sure you'll look after him well. Just put that in that tray when you've finished and you can set off to Featherwing!" She paused for a moment, studying the girl as she picked up the other two pokeballs, "A word of advice, if you don't mind... When travelling around the city, it might be advised that you wear something. I wouldn't like to hear you've been arrested for public indecency. You'd probably be alright on the Routes, and Wetherseed as you're aware, but um, yes. The Rangers might have something to say..." With that, she coughed slightly, apparently flustered and disappeared into one of the back rooms. Congratulations! You have received a CUBCHOO! Gender: Male Attacks: Powder Snow, Growl, +1 EGG MOVE Personality: Friendly, relaxed, affectionate.
You may now continue to Featherwing City!

"Ah, yes, I'm sure he has."
The knowing smile that the professor gave, as well as the way she spoke flew over the nudists head. Jamila really wasn't the sort for social subtleties, which would, at the very least, be good for her new Cubchoo.
After a few moments, the professor - who Jamila still thought was insanely pretty - put a sheet of paper and a pen down in front of her. She looked down at the form, worrying for a moment. It didn't take her long to realise that everything was very basic and not a test to see how good of a trainer she'd be. She let out a sigh of relief; she wasn't particularly insecure, but she realised that she had very little knowledge in the way of Pokemon training. She took the pokeball and tucked into her bag, getting ready to leave for Featherwing. She picked up the pens then answered each question in turn, before checking over it again. She couldn't get anything wrong, lest she be arrested for fraud.
It was only then, with thinking of being arrested for fraud, that Jamila realised just what the professor had said; she could be arrested for being naked. Her eyes widened with shock at the thought, and her mouth straightened into a line. Being from a 'sheltered' life - one in which she could be naked anywhere with no problems - she was very surprised to hear that. She didn't really believe it, really. The professor had been uncomfortable with her nakedness, so it really wouldn't be that much of stretch to believe that she was just trying to get her to put on some clothes.
After gathering the free stuff, Jamila trotted off to Featherwing.
