Emile had to admit, the surroundings in Nexivus where incredibly beautiful; perhaps on par with his own home. He walked down the sidewalk, looking at each house as he passed by, hands in his pockets and the leather pad firmly on his right shoulder. He sighed quietly at that - due to some sort of virus in the region, he couldn't bring his Pokemon with him. At first he'd been considering staying away simply for that reason but some firm pecks to the shoulder courtesy of his Pidgeotto, Imogen, had convinced him to go. I hope Mom and Dad are taking good care of you all.He shook his head to clear his thoughts and flicked his hair from his eyes for the billionth time since he'd stepped onto the path for this road as he walked up the gravel path to the front of the lab - that wasn't like any he'd ever seen before. Calmly the boy raised his hand and knocked three times before stepping back and lacing his fingers together, wondering who might answer the door this time. As he looked up he saw a Pidgey in the nearby tree watching him. He smiled softly and knelt down, whistling softly to it. The small bird type flapped down from the tree and cautiously approached him as he raised his hand to it - a little male, it was. He slowly ran his fingers down its back gently and it seemed to 'purr' (or the bird version) and lean into his hand. "Well aren't you a beautiful boy then?" He smiled to it, utterly forgetting he'd just rang the doorbell... ((I'd like to reserve a Murkrow please ))

NEXIVUS LABORATORIES Hawthorne let out a cheer, patting Lilac on the back. "How fabulous, Lilac! I FINISHED IT!" She clapped her hands together, prancing around the Laboratory as she chanted to herself, "I finished it, I finished it!" Lilac rolled her eyes. She'd seen Hawthorne like this more times than she could count. After leaving her reports until the last possible moment, she would have to undertake the crazy few days of not sleeping and manically trying to complete her work, and then the jubilant, sleep-deprived joy when she'd finished just in time. She'd done this since Lilac was a Kirlia and Hawthorne was a Pokemon Biology student. Nevertheless, it was better than crazy, short-tempered rushing Hawthorne at least. The doorbell rang and Hawthorne stopped dancing around and giggled. She trotted over to the door, pulling it wide open with a beaming smile, "Welcome to Nexivus Laboratories!" She grinned, stepping back for the trainer to enter. "Oh, is that your pidgey?" She asked curiously. ooc; oh gosh, this is so short! i'm sorry, my darling!

At the sound of the woman's voice the Pidgey took to the air and Emile waved it off before he stood, smiling and extended his hand.
"Sadly no, Miss." He smiled "My name is Emile Avaant of Johto. I must say you have a very beautiful region, one of the most out of all I have travelled."
He stepped inside slowly, taking his shoes off (common courtesy he imagined, but better safe than sorry no?) and placed them neatly together.
"I do wish my Pokemon could have seen the sights but I realize due to the outbreak I couldn't much bring them here. I specialize in Bird Pokemon, you see." He chuckled, flicking the hair from his eyes "But anyway! Its a pleasure to meet you Professor."
He paused for a few moments, out of breath. He hated how he could talk for Kanto - simply waffle on for god knows how long. He looked around, taking in the rather homey sights before he spoke again.
"I heard you've recently hatched some rather beautiful Murkrow chicks and was wondering If I may take a look at them?" He smiled softly "I've never raised one before, despite them being native to my region."

NEXIVUS LABORATORIES
"Sadly no, Miss. My name is Emile Avaant of Johto. I must say you have a very beautiful region, one of the most out of all I have travelled."
As Emile spoke, the Professor shook his hand, her smile still on her face. She simply couldn't wipe it off if she tried.
"I do wish my Pokemon could have seen the sights but I realize due to the outbreak I couldn't much bring them here. I specialize in Bird Pokemon, you see."
At this, her smile dimmed slightly. Of course, being a professor she knew the effects of the darkness, both in Pokemon and the people who trained them, but it was always sad to see someone who couldn't bring their Pokemon with them. Though it was for the best when people couldn't; it was absolutely horrible when a Noctus Pokemon killed a trainers Pokemon.
"But anyway! Its a pleasure to meet you Professor." Short pause. "I heard you've recently hatched some rather beautiful Murkrow chicks and was wondering If I may take a look at them?" He smiled softly "I've never raised one before, despite them being native to my region."
It always astounded her when word got out like this. She had only had the Murkrow old enough to meet people a couple of days ago, and already people were hearing about them. Still, it was nice when people knew what they wanted. With that in mind, she nodded her head. "Of course you can!" With that, she skipped off to find the pokeballs, leaving Lilac there to make sure that nothing got stolen (not that she believed Emile would steal anything, of course).
Not long after, she came back with three pokeballs, releasing each one in turn.
"This girl is very... active. There's hardly a moment of the day when she's still. She's probably very nice, but it's hard to tell because she's always too busy to get to know anyone." As if to illustrate the point, the Murkrow was flying around the room at top speed, not paying any attention to the possible trainer.
"This is our male Murkrow. He's not active at all, but he's very obedient. He doesn't really know how to make friends, but he's always trying." The Murkrow was a little bit chubby, but he was almost sure the human wouldn't hold it against him. He stared up, waiting to see if he was chosen.
"Our last Murkrow has a bit of a sad story to her. When the other Murkrow were starting to fly, we realised that this one was having a lot of trouble. I tried everything I could to get her to fly, but nothing worked. After a while, we took her to a Pokemon centre and were told that she would never fly. Perhaps because of this, she's not very friendly." The last Murkrow peered up at Emile, curious.
"Any of them take your fancy?"

Emile stood in utter awe as he looked to each Murkrow in turn. The expression he had was much the same as a mother being introduced to a newborn child; he simply didn't know which to look at first but the instant he saw them he loved them all.
"I'm sure I couldn't have them all?" He chuckled jokingly "They're all very beautiful little birds. I'm hard pressed to choose..."
He looked to the first female, who still hadn't noticed him. She was sadly out; despite being a strong flyer he was interested in a friend too and he wasn't sure she'd be all that responsive if she hadn't taken notice of him - or if she was off trying to meet someone when he needed her.
Now he looked to the male. Very friendly - and the weight concern didn't bother him, considering it could be very easily worked off - but if he didn't have the right motivation past friendship he'd never be a battler or protector which is what Emile would need. Make no mistake, he wasn't interested in battling as others but incase he was needed...
It pained him to say no to the two of them but as he looked to the second little girl he nodded slowly.
"As much as I love all three of them, and i'd love to take them all with me, I am sure the other two will get loving trainers of their own some day. If you don't mind Professor, could you drop me a message when these two get picked up? Just so I know where they're going?" He smiled as he ever so gently reached out to pick up the second female with practiced ease and held her gently in his hands like a child, with all the love and attention he held - it would be clear.
"I'm sure I can get her to fly." He smiled to the Professor then to the little Murkrow. "My grandmother managed to walk again after she shattered her leg and the doctors told her she'd never walk again, but she did. I have hope for this little girl and I'm going to get her to enjoy her wings one day, that I promise. I'm going to give her the chance to see what the world has to offer as was intended."
He smiled gently, pausing as he thought of a name.
"Lani." He said finally "It means 'Sky' or 'Heaven'. May I have her, Professor?"
Emile smiled gently and continued to hold her, watching her reaction with a warm smile.

"Yes, I'm sure I can do that for you, dear. It's nice to see someone so caring towards pokemon even if they aren't their own." She returned the other two pokemon, especially worried about the frantic flier in case she hit any of the walls or something... The last Murkrow looked up at the trainer, an unreadable expression on her face. Someone had chosen her? "I'm sure I can get her to fly." smiled the boy, causing Hawthorne to grin ear-to-ear. "Oh, I'm so delighted! I don't think she could have gone to a better trainer. Someone experienced with birds, of all things! I'm sure it would help to bring her out of her shell." She nodded, picking up a short consent form on a clipboard and a pen. "All you need to do is fill that in and sign it, and you can be on your way." Congratulations! You have received a MURKROW!
