I met him in featherwing city when a noctus mankey attacked us. after that, he started following me around -- I don't really know why, but I've seen him battle ... so I suppose having him around will be useful. I do respect him quite a bit, as he's much stronger -- battle-wise -- than I am. for some reason, Rydia doesn't like him very much. she tends to be rather ... territorial around him."

THE LAB

[/i] like a target? I'm not wearing anything fancy ... at least, I don't think. regardless, it's rather frustrating. as if I didn't have enough to worry about, along with whatever schemes those people can think up. I suppose I'd have to watch my back from now on.

"and then ... I made it into the lab. professor hawthorne is a very ... nice lady. I suppose. perhaps it's just me, but I got the impression she didn't enjoy my company very much -- not that I can blame the woman. I don't think I'm the best conversationalist out there. she held up the conversation just fine by herself, though how anyone can talk as much as that woman is a miracle.

"well, after that, I was given three mareep to choose from. the first was a female, one that was apparently bipolar and quite territorial. the second was a male, who I could see was just like me; observant, calm. most likely not much of a talker, either ... if pokemon can talk. the last one was another female, who, according to the professor, had a penchant for napping and flirting.

"definitely not something I would be willing to handle anytime soon, to be sure. it was a rather difficult decision. the male seemed the most likely choice, but ... for some reason, I chose the female. the one with impulsiveness problems. she seemed like such a sweetheart kind pokemon, I was curious as to how she would fare in battle.

"if the professor is to be believed, I think she is a force to be reckoned with. we ... shall see."[/ul]
