[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,460,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1093.photobucket.com/albums/i421/Egyptian996323/jackie2.png] Jacqueline made her way excitedly toward Featherwing City. Her feet were starting to ache from the long walk and how she continuously got lost when trying to find the Laboratory earlier on that morning. By now, it was past lunch time and she had stopped with her small team to devour some of the food she had packed up. The four of them sat and ate their chicken and dumplings happily. By these point they were cool, but Jackie did not mind. At least it still tasted good, filled her belly up, as it did for her pokemon as well. Tsuki, Tyr and Koda. She grinned from ear to ear as she looked them over. They were all so attractive.
Tsuki was her first, her starter which she had been looking forward to the most. While she had feared that her pokemon would absolutely despise her, Tsuki was the complete opposite. In fact, she had instantly taken a protective stance over her, claiming Jackie as her own and hardly letting the other two even near her. She was easily seen as strong headed and determined, but her protectiveness was the most obvious of her traits, signs of aggression appearing any time passing people drew too near, warm smiles on their faces.
The second was Tyr, the little blue Riolu who was curious about everything going on, wanting to meet everyone around them. She walked with confidence, but had already found herself almost lost three times since Jackie received her. Tyr had been given to her by an older man who had seen how kindly and excitedly Jackie treated Tsuki. He had needed someone to look over the little Riolu, and picked Jackie. She could not help but cuddle the little blue pokemon as it finished eating.
The last and newest member of her team was a Squirtle. She had not actually caught it, but Tsuki had scared it when she felt it moving to close to her Jackie. The turtle had immediately taken off running and hid in its shell until Jacqueline approached her. After Jackie had proved they were not out to kill her, the little female began following them. By late afternoon, Jackie had just decided to make her a part of the team and dubbed her Koda. She was excited that it was only late afternoon and she already had such great pokemon. Although she was not sure she planned on catching anymore for a while.
As everyone finished their food, Tsuki mostly eating the chicken and Koda the dumplings, Jackie decided it was time to head into the rest of the city. It was so big and would take a while to get through. But she did not mind. It meant more room to meet others, find pokemon, and buy food before moving on to the gym and then to the next area. Jackie found herself shaking with excitement, although she had tremors and normally shook anyway. Her ponytail wagged from side to side with each bouncing step and her bright eyes and wide grin greeted everyone who passed, although Tsuki's harsh attitude seemed to keep them away, making meeting others harder.
Tyr often wandered off, trying to introduce herself to others before sprinting to catch back up with the others. She was quick, easily making her way back and then standing almost attached to Jackie's hip. Tsuki led the group as they looked for whatever or whoever they might find. She almost hoped for a pokemon or trainer to battle, but also wanted to meet some other people and make friends. However, Jackie figured that Tsuki would not let anyone near her until she burned off some energy in a battle. The last pokemon, Koda, remained in Jackie's arms, almost crawling up her head each time someone looked at her funny or she heard a loud noise.

“This must be an omen of horrible promises. Come, Nina. We must hurry home and cleanse ourselves!” In a flurry the old man mumbled a short prayer and snatched his teenaged daughter by her wrist and hurried home. Others began to stare as well at what had frightened the elderly man so terribly. With a small gasp of shock they too made it a point to avoid its path as well as its open-eyed stare. What’s more the Pokémon had decided to travel down the center of the street for everyone to observe. He’d long ago become accustom to glares from humans to the point that it no longer afflicted him. From the gathering crowd behind the normal and flying type a shrill voice questioned, “Mommy! Why is that Hoothoot outside in the day time?” That’s right; this little nocturnal Pokémon was in fact not at all nocturnal. All his life he’s traversed the world and did his errands during the day, in contrast to his species which was rarely ever seen out in the light.
However the dark scared this particular Hoothoot, and nobody was ever around at night, so he was fairly lonely and terrified when he was not sleeping. The attention he was receiving wasn’t the best, but at least he was some company. But unexpectedly, a small group of boys opened fire upon him with rocks. “Hooot~” he cawed in shock, attempting to fly away by flapping his underdeveloped wings but to no avail. His one foot flipping between one and the other rapidly as he stumbled down the street. Not paying much attention to where he was escaping he ran into a stiff obstruction, stopping him dead in his tracks: a leg. No, not another human! Although he was rather fond of females, his mood toward anything with legs had been ruined. In a desperate attempt of freedom the deranged Pokémon casted Hypnosis toward the Riolu upon her shoulders and went after the Houndour with a Tackle attack.

She stopped and looked curiously down, her Houndour starting to growl as her ears pinned back. Tsuki immediately had a feeling that whatever was coming was bad, there was no other explanation for why everyone was running off. As Jackie's smile faded and her green eyes widened, she finally saw what it was. Some boys were pelting it with rocks, and she took a step worriedly backward, not sure how to react.
The next thing she knew, the Hoothoot was barreling toward her. She gasped as it made contact with her leg and stumbled backward, her arms waving as she tried to regain her balance. Koda feel to the ground where she instantly hid inside of her shell and cried and the next thing Jackie knew, she was trying to catch a sleeping Riolu. This was all so hectic! She frantically searched for her two poke balls and returned the sleeping Tyr and crying Squirtle. Tsuki was snarling viciously, wanting to rip this owl to pieces for not only tackling her, but running into Jackie like it had. <What's your deal?> The Houndour had managed to snarl out through various Houns and Dours, making Jackie wonder what was going on.
Her head tilted before the little dog pokemon responded with a Leer. "Uhm, try thunder fang, Tsuki!" Jackie quickly called out, wondering if her pokemon would listen to her and if it did, would the Hoothoot be able to dodge? It would have a good chance, being able to dodge. Not to mention it would have to know to try its hardest to avoid any and all electric moves, as that would be its weakness. It had a high accuracy, not the highest but still high at ninety-five percent and could make the pokemon flinch or paralyze it, which would give them time to figure out what had just happened. Houndour listened and tried it, her teeth seeming to light up, glowing yellow. Sparks surrounded her mouth as she tried to attack.
Tsuki knew that still, making contact, it would not be the strongest of moves. It was her egg move and she had used it before when working up to level five, but it was still weak. She rolled her eyes at the idea of not being as strong as she liked to think she was, but that did not stop her confidence. She would try it anyway and was determined to make this Hoothoot sorry for hitting either of them in the first place.

The diurnal hoothoot managed to confuse even himself with the chaos he created, attacking that trainer and her pokemon. Almost surprised that he’d somehow frightened two of the three pokemon into leaving the battle, the bewildered hoothoot looked around wildly in the fracas; it occurred to him to check on how his attack had affected the houndour, but he only just located the creature when it leered at him. The poor, friendless hoothoot withdrew into itself, trembling slightly from intimidation and now regretting its decision to walk down the exact middle of the street. There were always the back alleys, or the rooftops… But no, he had to draw even more attention to himself and flip out on the next pokemon he saw! Yeah what luck that gave him—
The sudden glow of yellow emanating from the dog pokemon drew the hoothoot’s attention. Aw, crap, was that an electric move? Still trembling, the hoothoot flailed and fluttered in a wild attempt to get out of the way; despite its efforts, the shocking fangs took a good nick out of its side. Screeching and flinching, hoothoot tried to hobble further away. It turned and growled at its opponent, but it was too frightened to use a close up move like tackle again. Plus, that nick in its side really hurt.
Hoothoot flinched and used growl // I like what you did there, putting the houndour and his moves at the bottom :3 very accommodating.

She would teach it a lesson about touching her trainer and then trying to attack her! She huffed and puffed, pleased that her electric attack had worked and glad that she was one of the lucky few fire types to have a move that worked against its weakness. Not to mention the fact it was effective against flyings was amazingly useful right now. In fact, if she knew any dark attacks, she would be a double threat to the poor pokemon. It was quickly frightened, not attacking back, but trying a little growl. Of course Tsuki mostly just laughed at it, taking a few menacing steps toward the Hoothoot, but not attacking until Jackie said it was time.
"Alright, Tsuks, let's try a howl, raise your offense since we lowered it's defence!" Jackie called out, excited to be in her first battle, even if it was just with another little pokemon. She chuckled to herself as she watched her pokemon howl with wide green eyes, she looked over the little owl pokemon. She almost felt bad for it, as it tried to escape Tsuki, obviously regretting its decision to come down the street in the first place. "Actually, Tsuki, back off for a minute. I think it has calmed down," She quickly called out, only to see the dog-like pokemon shoot her a dirty look. It wanted to finish this pokemon off! That would never happen if Jackie felt bad for it. If that was the case, they would never win. She whinned, moving her feet about as she looked from Jackie to the Hoothoot multiple times.
"Come here little guy," Jackie cooed before she knelt down, reaching her hand out tenderly. "If you don't attack again, we won't either. Are you alright?" She tilted her head curiously. She no longer felt the need to battle the creature if it no longer wanted to battle back. Although she doubted it had wished to battle in the first place. The children throwing rocks and then hitting her... that was more of an accident. Jackie then figured that attacking her Riolu and Houndour were more so out of denfense of itself than anything else. It must have figured that by that point, it would surely be attacked anyway. Even as Jackie now tried to befriend the pokemon, Tsuki prepared to attack once more, just in case.
Little embers fell from her mouth, instantly burning out as they touched the ground, but she was not afraid to use the actual attack. Staring down the Hoothoot, she wanted to make sure it understood that. <Houn, Houndour> It snarled in warning, moving to Jackie's side, only to have her slide the pokemon back, not wanting to frighten the little psychic bird anymore than she had already. Tsuki still did not like the sheer idea of this pokemon. It was out in day time, for starters, and didn't even belong to anyone! Sure, she could understand if it had a trainer that it might be more accustomed to daylight, but a normal Hoothoot should be in a nest somewhere right now. She grumbled again, but Jackie's bright smile and curious eyes were so sweet, ready to greet the pokemon and check any possible wounds.

Hoothoot! Male, Level Six Growl , Hypnosis , Foresight , Tackle
To be frank, the Hoothoot wasn't quite ready to trust Jackie. Sure, she had called off the attacks, and that was awesome, but he was afraid that it was just a ploy - a silly little plan to hurt him worse. Still, she looked nice... but her Pokemon looked scary, still, and it still seemed to be ready to attacked.
He swallowed. What was he even supposed to do in this situation? He really hadn't thought it through, and he had expected the girl to keep on fighting until he was little more than mince meat. He flapped his wings a few times, once again hoping for a get away, but it seemed that he was still unable to fly.
Damn.
But he hadn't been attacked yet. That was a good sign! He hopped forward, ready to either be helped or hurt; he could deal with either. He was strong, even if he was terrified. He wasn't just going to flee. He glanced to the side. Okay, if they attacked him again he would flee.

It was not the cutest, not at all. In fact, it was almost frightening. One leg and two overly large eyes. Hoothoots had always given her the chills, well when she was little at least. But still, she knew that Hoothoot and Noctowls could be good and strong pokemon. They were psychic and normal, and she had always been intrigued by the psychic attacks and powers. But then again, Noctowl was not nearly as frightening as Hoothoot either. She rolled her eyes as she considered trying to make this pokemon a part of her team. Tsuki would surely be pissed. She chuckled, looking over at the little pokeon as it still huffed and puffed, pacing in a circle. It wanted to finish off this Hoothoot. She grumbled and growled, but did not interrupt Jackie or try to get between her and the pokemon.
Jackie watched the pokemon as he seemed unsure of what to do. He wanted to try and escape, but had not yet regained himself enough to take flight. His wings had flapped a few times, but it was no use. Even though he had not been attacked, he still seemed ready to escape. Large eyes wandered from side to side and dit waited to determine if it would leave or stay. At this point, Jackie wondered if it would approach her at all. Her hand remained out reached and she smiled softly. "You must understand, we only attacked because you had first. Otherwise, I doubt we would have really noticed you. Well, if those boys had not been pelting you with rocks after all," She looked the Hoothoot over but it did not seem injured too badly. Just sore from Tsuki's counter attack.
Jackie could not help but smile at the fact that her Houndour was already so into battling. That it could have won too, or so she thought. She turned her green eyes to look at Tsuki for a moment, using her other hand to pat the dog-like pokemon as she mouthed 'good job' to it. <Houn> was all Tsuki really replied with, however, still annoyed that Jackie was just going to try and make friends with this pokemon now. "I am not sure what Hoothoot eat, but I have a dumpling left over if you are hungry?" She smiled warmly. She took off her backpack before dropping to her knees in the middle of the sidewalk. She pulled out the small plastic tub that had contained the food and popped the lid off of it. Setting the lid down, she then held the thing out. She figured that the pokemon may very well turn the one little dumpling down, but she wanted to offer it anyway.
She would admit, the little pokemon did still sort of freak her out, but that would not stop her from being kind to it. She would admit, this little one was interesting. Just the fact that it was out during the middle of the day was interesting on its own. And then the fact that it had chosen to fly down the middle of the entire crowd. "You are a strange pokemon, you know?" She tilted her head, looking at it and laughing softly. By now, the dish was sitting on the sidewalk and her arms were flat to her sides as she fell back on her legs to sit on them. Her grin remained wide and she fixed her pony tail, watching the owl creature curiously.

Hoothoot—oblivious of his own mistakes—rolled his wide, crimson eyes at the human girl. She was forgetting that he was the victim in this situation! However he was only trying to mend his broken pride and courage. It would probably be a long while before he had the audacity to walk amongst humans again. At least, he wouldn’t be so bold about it the next time around. Company or not, he didn’t want to ever be at the other end of rocks for the rest of his life. Perhaps he could somehow learn to become nocturnal and interact with all the other Hoothoot resident to Featherwing City. But his train of thought was broken because for some strange reason the human began to kneel before him, rummaging through its sac of treasures in order to reveal a strange food of some sort!
Come to think of it, all this turmoil had gotten Hoothoot famished, but he warily eyed the heartless Houndour as if it were physically keeping him from eating. For some strange reason he didn’t feel very comfortable being near the female while it was around as well. As much as the mouth-watering scent assaulted his hungry stomach he refused to budge, both giant, red orbs glued upon the trainer and her Houndour. Finally she set the container down, giving the normal and flying type the opportunity to snatch it up, devouring it completely with three jabs of his beak. That was delicious! He would have looked for more but it was obvious it was the last piece she’d been carrying with her. Crest-fallen, Hoothoot stared at his feet in dismay while his stomach growled to be fed more.

That meant that she was getting a little closer to making it feel better, or so she thought. The food had no longer been that hot, only remaining warm due to the fact that it was so hot outside. She smiled to herself as the pokemon ate the food so quickly, but immediately felt bad that the single dumpling was all she had left. "Hrm, I'm sorry little fella, that's all I have on me... well besides a cracker or two, but they have been in my bag for a while...." She said, offering two broken crackers by dropping them into the dish as well.
Tsuki rolled her eyes and walked off, deciding that Jackie was never going to let her take out that pokemon. Moving around behind Jackie, she plopped down before laying down and watching the pair, obviously annoyed. Her ears twitched and Jackie could not help but chuckle at the little dog pokemon. "Well, I mean, we could always go and try to find you some more food," She said, mostly to herself, not sure if she should actually offer to buy the pokemon some food if it was not her own. Although, she would feel bad sending it off still hungry after how well its day had gone already today. Her voice had not been as welcoming on the idea, "But I feel it would be odd to buy food for a pokemon that is not on my team." She had said it aloud, feeling a little rude about it.
Standing up, her spirit remained peppy. "We can go look for any thing you might find tasty out here, though?" She grinned from ear to ear, placing her backpack back where it belonged. Tsuki rolled her eyes and grumbled, but did not stand up. She really could not believe this. How dumb could one person be? She focused on the little owl for a moment, grunting at it before turning her head to watch some people who were out walking around. She figured this idea was not as appealing to the little pokemon, as whatever they found probably would not taste as good as her dumpling or something else human made. Although, that was her own belief. She did not know how different a human and Hoothoot's tastebuds really were.
"On the other hand, if that is the case, I'm sure you could always go off and find your own Hoothoot food. If that is the case, however, my team would love to finish battling you..." Jackie continued to speak her thoughts aloud to the little pokemon, wondering if it actually understood it. Since she did not understand the Hoothoot, she doubted it knew what she was saying, however. "Hmm... although, we could always use another team mate... one with psychic abilities could be nice," She said aloud to herself as she pondered the thought. "Interested in joining a team? Tsuki won't randomly attack you or anything. In fact, she is quite protective over my Squirtle and Riolu that you saw when you first arrived. Plus then you can have all the dumplings, or whatever else you want," She asked the little pokemon, her head tilting and she wondered if she really did want it. If anything, she expected to battle it and try to catch it, not to just have it agree to join the team. But this fellow was already spooked enough and ready to flee. Thus, she did not really expect to see him on the team, but if he did join, she was sure she could work with him.

The small owl Pokémon descended deeper into misery as the female human confirmed the thought that she had none left. Without removing his glare from his hooked toes, he sighed, “Hooot.” The sound really had no substance to it, just something he did when he was upset. Which is funny, because food had been the last thing on his mind a few minutes ago. I suppose that’s what running for life and then being hit by a powerful electric attack did to a bird. Every word the human spoke fell to deaf ears as the Hoothoot wallowed in his own despair. If he wanted to find something to eat—which he had absolutely no energy for anyway—he’d go and search for it himself, but anything would taste bland in contrast to the dumpling that’d just spoiled his taste buds. He didn’t want help finding food he knew wouldn’t be eaten in the first place. However, when she mentioned battling, the dark and flying type looked up and stared at her immediately.
First from her own eyes and second to her Houndour before shaking his head and taking a quick step back. Growing up around humans the Hoothoot had become adept at the English language—still incapable of speaking it—but understanding every word. The human then invited him to joining her own team of Pokémon. He’d seen trainers interacting with their Pokémon before, some good and others not so great, but never considered himself battling material. Her team sounded like a lovely bunch, aside from the Houndour, Tsuki. Not to mention the girl would eventually buy more dumplings for him to enjoy! His mind made up, the Hoothoot hopped in place with newfound energy and approached Tsuki. If he was to get better at battling for the human, he’d have to start somewhere, even if it meant facing his fears. The bird Pokémon cawed at the Houndour and took a few jabs at it, willing it to rise in order to battle. He then flitted away, a small distance from his opponent before letting loose a meager Growl. “Hooothoot!”

It seemed distraught by the idea of going out and finding something else to eat, obviously wanting the dumplings, or something equally delicious. He shook his head and backed away from her and her Houndour, but she did not mind. In fact, she was surprised he did not take off immediately at the idea of another fight with Tsuki. He seemed to understand what she was saying, which was a bit of a surprise, but she liked the idea that he actually knew what she was saying. Compared to the others on her team. She figured that generally when she spoke with them, they only understood every other word. Or every couple of words. Something along those lines. This fellow, however, seemed to understand all of it.
"So what do ya say?" He did not seem certain of what to do next, but finally decided that he should leap into the battle. Try and join her then receive more dumplings. Suddenly, he was filled with more energy, ready to battle once more. He still seemed frightened by the idea of the Houndour, but appeared to be more motivated by the idea of good food than fear. He made a noise at the Houndour before moving off a ways and using a Growl. To this, Tsuki leaped to her feet excitedly. Growling, she looked at Jackie to make sure she was allowed to go back into battle, something that Jackie smiled to and nodded. "Alright then!" She chuckled gently as the Houndour took a few steps toward the Hoothoot.
"How about an Ember attack?" Jackie tilted her head to see if Tsuki would follow the command. The Houndour's ear twitched and she nodded, shifting her weight about excitedly before trying the fire attack. She did not bother to use any sort of defensive attack this time around, but instead hoped to hit the Hoothoot again, although her aim was still not the best. She was determined to show this thing who the boss was, not that she doubted he did not already sense it was her. That would make sense for his fear of her and battling her, but that was what she thrived off of. It was what she wanted to see. The excitement was easily visible in her expression as she attacked and Jackie could not help but smile at her before looking at the Hoothoot.
She could not help but feel the need to call out something supportive to both of them, but held it back, figuring Tsuki would grow angry with her for cheering on the enemy. So instead she smiled widely at them both, her green eyes seeming to shine before she looked at her bag. She had pokeballs in there, something she would need to catch this fellow, but she would wait to grab it, at least for a few more attacks, or so she hoped. Still, she was overly excited for this, her first real battle... and then if she could actually catch the Hoothoot on top of it... Her smile widened and seemed to still cheer on both pokemon, even if she did not say anything. Still she had a hard time holding back her excitement, hands fumbling around through her bag.

HOOTHOOT l MALE l LEVEL 06 GROWL | HYPNOSIS | FORESIGHT | TACKLE The Hoothoot hopped eagerly from one foot to another, the idea of a battle seemingly interesting him now that he had a cause to do so. Besides, even if she changed her mind, this trainer seemed nice enough to maybe even give him another serving of dumplings. Ooh gosh, they had been simply scrumptious, and the Hoothoot couldn't wait to scarf down another generous helping if he was given the chance to. Besides, it wasn't as if the Hoothoot was so dignified so as to abstain from stealing and thievery. Living in the city was tough, and the Hoothoot seemed unabashed to announce that he was a petty thief in some sense, too.
The growl had seemed to have done a fairly fine job of intimidating the Houndour. Besides, it didn't look like it was going to attack any time soon. The Hoothoot was clearly mistaken when the Houndour acted on command, releasing pelts of little sparks of fire straight at the Hoothoot. Caught off guard, the Pokemon hooted in pain, desperately shaking the singeing embers off his well preened feathers. If he joined this team, he was very much already showing great disdain for the Houndour. Something told him that they wouldn't be on amicable terms. Huffing irritably, the Hoothoot flitted over rather than hopping, clearly growing bored. Maybe he could finish off this darned mutt once and for all! And he could prove himself to the trainer at the same time - Win win. With a haunting coo, the Hoothoot flitted over, pink, hypnotising rings being released from his eyes, which were swirling dangerously. The crimson orbs did not blink, focused on knocking out the Pokemon. Once he had felt he had done enough, the Hoothoot lunged forward in a little sissy manner, as though trying to Tackle the Houndour down.

Even if it was a pretty horrifying creature that would no doubt frighten her in the night time, he would surely have to make a good team mate. Especially if he remained so easy to motivate, through food and what not. She grinned as it shoot off the embers before using its own attack. A hypnosis attack! She sort of gasped as she looked at Tsuki, having found herself distracted by this Hoothoot. She had had the time to use another attack, but was going too slow, sitting around falling into her thoughts instead of protecting her pokemon.
"Tsuki! Don't fall for it! Use another Ember!" She pleaded, but it was already too late. Her pokemon was looking directly at the Hoothoot, trying to use an ember attack but the hypnosis was hitting her head on. She immediately began to sway, staggering slightly before flopping onto her stomach, paws curling up to her body as her head dropped to the ground. Snoring noises emitted from her jowls and Jackie found herself disappointed. Oh, how she needed to stay more focused. Now her pokemon was asleep and could not do anything! She felt like a moron now, sitting there staring at her Houndour snoring on the street. "Tsuki," She called out in a whine, only to suddenly see the Hoothoot flying toward her, tackling the poor thing as it slept!
She gasped again and watched as the Houndour's only response was a twitch of her ear. Well now this would stink, she would not be attacking at all and her other battling pokemon had also been put to sleep. Although she figured he was awake now. However, she did not want to switch out unless Houndour was hurt too badly. For now, though, she seemed happy in her sleep, she even seemed to be smiling, for once. Jackie looked back over at the Hoothoot and waited for it to attack again, surprised by the sudden change in the creature, yet still excited by it. At least it made this more interesting. Although it would surely grow bored with Houndour sleeping, trying to prove itself.
Still, she would feel bad making it battle Tsuki while she slept, and she would never be able to catch it if it just kept putting her pokemon to sleep while it pranced around whooping them. Decisions, decisions. She figured she would see how it responded next and if she needed to, she could try her timid Squirtle. At least try and get it out of its shell. She giggled as the thought doubled as somewhat of a joke. But she figured Squirtle would not fight much. She was always so frightened. Then again, it could be good practice for her. But she would see. Continuing to fumble through her messy bag of stuff, she finally found her belt and looped it through her pants, attaching six pokeballs and reaching for one of them. "I have to admit, putting her to sleep was probably one of your better ideas," Jackie said softly, looking back at the Hoothoot.

Oh, splendid! The dreaded Tsuki had fallen asleep due to his Hypnosis. That must have looked rather impressive from a spectating point of view! The small Pokémon had to keep itself from smiling at the human—seriously, or it would have scared her further. Bird Pokémon did not belong smiling, it sent children crying. A vacant stare complimented the supposed nocturnal Pokémon’s face instead. The Hoothoot gave a hardly fearful caw before hopping toward the snoozing canine. What was it going to do? It was asleep! Completely wrapped up in self-accomplishment and pride he puff out his chest and began prancing around his victory, almost stumbling as he forgot to switch a foot. However he finally did tumble to the ground as he realized that the Houndour was only sleeping!
No doubt it when it came to it would be more than upset and attack worse than before. Fear quickly set into the tiny bird Pokémon’s heart. If he was to be defeated, then the human would realize how much of a weakling he was and move along. And offer someone else her dumplings! This was it, he’d failed. After tasting such divine food, he was forced to live a life of sub-par, reduced to dumplings thrown away and leftover. Game over, man. Game over! < Oh woes me! > The Hoothoot flapped its wings and fell over in defeat. He may as well express his weakness and end the battle now before Tsuki woke up and seriously injured him. If he was, would the human care to try and help him? Fat chance. He was a horrible battle, what was he thinking taking on the fire and dark type? Absolutely foolish.
ooc; don't worry, he's not done battling. he just didn't attack this round. xD

He had been so fearful of her, and now there she was, unable to attack, snoring away like there was no tomorrow. She watched it curiously and wondered if it would find this the perfect time to attack Tsuki, but it did not. Instead, it stood there puffing out his chest and prancing around, as if he had just won the battle. Soon, he tumbled and she gasped to herself, frightened that he might have split his head open or knocked himself out or something. Although she would probably have to laugh for at least a moment if he had. Since he had felt so accomplished, hurting himself or knocking himself out would have been /slightly/ amusing if anything.
However, as he managed to lift himself back to his foot, he was again frightened. It must have finally sunk in that her pokemon was sleeping, in which case, she decided not to return the pokemon. She just could not have him so excited about becoming that much closer to defeating Tsuki to have her switched out. Returning the pokeball to its place, she dropped her bag to the floor and waited once more. She knew that it would be boring to have Tsuki just lying there sleeping, and for a moment she wished that the fire/dark type had the Early Bird ability, but alas she did not. Sighing, she giggled again at the Hoothoot as it fell over and just lied there. It obviously was trying to decide between giving up before the pokemon awoke or continuing to battle it. She had to admit, if anything, this fellow was amusing. Would definitely need some work if he were to become a battling partner, however.
Not that that would be much work. Tsuki was always up to helping another train, since it helped improve her skills at the same time. He would never be as frightful as her Squirtle, she figured. Instead, just pokemon stronger or meaner than himself, which she figured should not be that much work to fix. She only had to build up his confidence and aggression, or something like that. Sighing again she worried that perhaps she would not be able to do that successfully either. Her poor Squirtle was still so easily frightened, and she had already had it several days thinking it would be no problem to work out. But then again, that was more of Koda's personality, whereas Hoothoot's was just fear. Still she looked forward to finishing this battle and seeing what the Hoothoot could do, all she needed was Tsuki to wake up already!
