Isabella = Lime Green Francesca = TealIsabella and Francesca had decided to cycle the 20minutes to Professor Hawthorne's lab but it was a horrible day for it. The sun was beating down hard and the air was still so there wasn't so much as a breeze to relieve the heat.
For once the twins looked quite similar, the hot day had forced Fran into shorts that weren't as long as she would have liked and a vest top. Issy had decided that tying her hair back would be a good idea to keep it off of her neck. The main difference between them was that Issy had put more effort into styling her hair and doing her make up whereas Fran wasn't wearing any make up and had just pulled her hair back into a ponytail. The difference in make up made Issy look older than Fran even though Issy was actually the younger of the twins. The pair also had matching backpacks on, one blue and the other yellow, they were filled with clothes, food and supplies for their journey.
The twins climbed off of their bikes and chained them up outside, Issy turned to her sister and smiled decisively "Right, are you ready? You have to actually speak to her, especially because she's like your hero."
Fran blushed and nodded, Issy smiled, "It'll be fine, don't stress out about it." They approached the house, Iz leading the way, as they reached the porch Fran grabbed her hand, pulling her back, "are you sure we're ready for this? To leave home, I mean." Fran had always been more nervous than Iz and she wasn't feeling ready to leave home. Francesca had grown up very sheltered within the family whereas Issy had been away at boarding school and abroard. Isabella groaned, "It's fine Fran, we're fine. Come on, as soon as we get our pokemon then we're all good. You can call home and visit and we're going to have lots of fun." Issy had tried to reassure her but it didn't seem to work, she hoped that a pokemon would help Fran become more confident. Fran nodded slowly and they climbed the steps to the porch together and rang the doorbell. Trying to calm Fran down Issy reached for her hand and grasped it tightly whilst they waited for someone to come to the door.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

LILAC
Lilac was steady entertaining the younger Pokémon—as instructed to by the absent Professor Hawthorne—when she suddenly felt a familiar sensation brush her mind. Visitors! However this particular instance there was two waiting at the door. Her analysis verified as she faintly heard back-and-forth mumbling from the other side of the building. Not wanting to keep her guests waiting, she kindly asked Daffodil to tend to the toddlers and glided toward the door. Putting on a smile strikingly similar to the professor’s Lilac opened the door for the visitors. Before her stood two young ladies grasping each other’s hand with more strength than necessary. Although her smile never faltered, the Gardevoir was buffeted by a wave of uncertainty mixed with apprehension. If the two ladies were so worried, they certainly were not showing it. The only distinguishing attribute was the way they styled their hair, obviously wanting to have some individuality, being identical twins and all.
With a slight bow and curtsey she greeted the two, staying true to her more than kind nature. Utilizing her telepathy flawlessly she faintly whispered, “Why hello, young ones. Welcome to Nexivus Laboratory. I am Lilac; Professor Hawthorne’s assistant. She is away running a quick errand at the moment so I will be obliged to help you with what you are looking for. Please, you are more than welcome to enter.” The psychic Pokémon prayed she hadn’t frightened them with her sudden message within their minds. That always seemed to get the visitors clawing at their heads. Lilac floated away from the entrance of the door in order to signify that it was passable. In the back of her mind she could not help but be pleased with herself at how seamlessly she’d taken the professor’s place temporarily. The ever observant Pokémon had watched the woman carefully with every hand-off and had made it a habit to practice these actions as if it were a ritual extensively.

Isabella was slightly surprised to see a pokemon answer the door instead of Professor Hawthorne. Fran had gone on about her so much she knew everything about the Professors appearance, mannerisms and expertise. She heard Francesca draw in a breath and glanced at her as the gardevoir started speaking. Fran's head snapped up to look at the pokemon, it's lips weren't moving,
she thought, oh, it's a psychic type. The shocked twins relaxed at her calm words and, still-slightly nervously, followed her into the laboratory. Issy, the bolder of the two smiled charmingly and introduced them, "Hi, it's nice to meet you. I'm Isabella and this is Francesca. Fran smiled, anxiously playing with a strand of hair that had escaped her ponytail. "We were hoping to get out first pokemon today. Issy had already decided what she wanted, a vulpix, but Francesca wasn't sure, she wanted a grass type but she wasn't sure which one. Isabella looked at Fran and guessing what she was thinking, decided to voice it with the Professor's assistant. "I'd really like a vulpix but my sister isn't sure. She wants a grass-type, though." Hopefully the gardevoir could help Fran make her mind up about which pokemon to get.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

LILAC
Although Lilac could sense the shock emanating from the twins upon hearing the psychic pokemon’s telepathic words, Lilac had met far less composed individuals. These two had handled it fairly well in her eyes. With an approving expression, Lilac moved on. ”We were hoping to get our first pokemon today,” the bolder twin, Issy, explained. The gardevoir nodded in understanding, floating away for a moment and returning with a booklet in hand. ”You may want to look through this book here, then. Unless you have a pokemon in mind already, that is,” she finished, nodding slightly to Issy and handing the twins the book.
”However there is no need to fear if you are not sure yet, Francesca,” Lilac continued in a comfortingly soft pseudo-voice. ”We have four wonderful grass type pokemon for you to choose from: Sewaddle, Oddish, Shroomish, and Deerling. Sewaddle is also a bug type, which will be helpful against other grass types, psychic and dark types. Oddish also has a second type: poison, which is usefully immune to steel types. Shroomish is purely a grass type, but they’re generally tough little pokemon. And Deerling is an adorable grass and normal type, evolving into the strong Sawsbucks. I can go into further detail if you wish,” Lilac offered, her natural peacefulness masking her satisfaction over how smoothly this encounter was going.
Turning to Isabella, Lilac continued, ”and for you, miss, I shall bring out our current vulpix’.” In a fluid sweep, the gardevoir disappeared and reappeared yet again, this time with three pokeballs. Lilac released the vulpix’.
Immediately one of the vulpix’ pranced over to the twins, wagging its tails enthusiastically and pacing around the girls eagerly. ”That particular vulpix has quite the energy,” Lilac delved into the descriptions as she had seen Hawthorne do so many times ”She’s an outgoing and curious sort, always willing to explore and befriend.” One of the others also approached rather boldly, although its expression was more cautious. ”This one errs on the cautious side, but he’s rather intelligent and brave. You’ll need to have a strong will with him or he might start to ignore you, however, since he’s so willful.”
The last vulpix was still sitting where it had been released from the pokeball, a wistful expression on its furry face. Lilac looked down at it fondly. ”And this little pup can be shy, but she’s a very loving pokemon and always trying to make those around her happy. With a little encouragement you may be able to build up her confidence.” Lilac turned her attention back to Isabella, expectant. ”What are your thoughts?”

Issy grinned when the vulpix were released and knelt down immediately to greet the pokemon. The first approached her happily, its tail wagging and Issy stroked its fur. "Fran, her fur's so soft,"
The vulpix was beautiful, with a shiny coat and a happy attitude. The second vulpix also seemed very happy and confident but was less eager to come forward. Isabella reached to stroke that one too but it seemed less willing to interact with the young girl. The third vulpix hadn't moved and Issy approahced it slowly, not wanting to spook the less confident vulpix but wishing to greet all three. Fran smiled faintly as her sister played with the vulpix before turning her attention back to the gardevoir. "I quite like oddish, they're really cute. Would I be able to meet some of them?" Her voice was very quiet so Fran hoped that if gardevoir hadn't been able to hear her then she could read it in her mind. Isabella, meanwhile was playing on the floor with the two more confident vulpix, the third sitting off to one side, the first vulpix was really playful and Issy really liked her. "I really like this vulpix she said, stroking the head of the first, more confident and friendly vulpix." Fran smiled, it was just like her sister to go for the easy option, she felt quite sorry for the shy vulpix, she wondered how long it would take for that one to be taken. Fran also felt pressured to decide her pokemon now, once Issy had decided she'd want to rush off again so Francesca couldn't take too long making her mind up. She was excited to see the oddish though, hopefully one of them would like her.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

NEXIVUS LABORATORIES
Lilac nodded at the two girls. The less confident one spoke quietly and she somewhat struggled to hear her, but managed to pick up a few words. { Oddish. Yes, of course. } She smiled gently, turning to the bolder twin. It had been quite a long time since she'd seen two trainers-to-be at the same time, she'd forgotten how confusing it had been. Especially when they looked exactly the same. The door clicked and opened, the charming Professor entered talking avidly to herself as she did so. She had several large plastic bags in her hands, almost overflowing with potions. "That charming man gave me a very good deal so I picked up some -- Oh goodness!" She looked at the twins, peering from one to another. "Oh my, has it really been so long since my last cup of tea? Have I started hallucinating already?" She giggled, placing her bags behind her desk. Lilac peered at her, whispered { They are monozygotic twins, Maria. } Hawthorne waved her hand at the psychic type carelessly. "So, you are here for a pokemon?" Hawthorne asked, stroking one of the vulpixes. { Yes, the vulpix has been chosen, and the other would like to see our oddishes. } Hawthorne beamed, "Oh, I'll just go and get those then!" She beamed and drifted into to the other room. Lilac rolled her eyes slightly, returning all of the foxes to their pokeballs. The chosen pokeball flew through the air towards Issy, floating gently in the air as Lilac waited for the girl to take it. She then passed the girls a clipboard, { Please take a moment to fill that in. Administration purposes. } She nodded, waiting for Hawthorne's return. She came back quickly, passing the girls their packs of items with a beaming smile. "There you go! And now..." She pressed the buttons on the front of the pokeball, releasing all three of the grass types. "Cute as a button, aren't they?" She purred. The first pranced forwards, doing a pirouette in midair. Hawthorne laughed, "This little guy just can't stop dancing! His battling style is very interesting, hehe. He's a bit of a perfectionist and takes direction extremely well." Another oddish watched the male with interest, "She's extremely vain, but who can blame her with such beautiful leaves?" Hawthorne giggled, "She's an attention seeker and likes to show off, especially in front of males." The oddish ruffled her leaves, hopping over to the girls, shaking her leaves and squeaking happily. The last watched the two other oddish with an almost envious expression. She was obviously nervous, much smaller than the other two pokemon, "This little girl is often scared, she definitely needs help coming out of her shell. But she's a lovely character and lives to please others. Extremely generous and kind." Hawthorne smiled fondly at the pokemon, before looking to Fran. "Would you like any of them?"

Issy took the pokeball happily and reached for the clipboard and pen, she perched on the sofa and began filling out her details. The pokeball sat on her lap and she couldn't stop smiling whenever she looked at it, it was her vulpix. Issy had already started on Fran's form on the clipboard whilst Fran was deciding on her pokemon.
Fran's mouth had fallen open when Professor Hawthorne walked through the door and it hadn't closed yet. Professor Hawthorne was her hero, she was who Fran wanted to be in the future. Francesca was a biology expert at her school, acing all the classes, she had read a lot of Professor Hawthorne's papers and she too was interested in a cure for the Darkness. So, Fran meeting Professor Hawthorne was like a normal teenager meeting a movie star.
She flushed bright red when the Professor addressed her, releasing the oddish. Fran took in everything that she was told about the pokemon silently and considered the three pokemon. The second oddish reminded her too much of Issy, as much as she loved her twin she didn't need another one of those around. The third oddish appealed to her because she too was quite shy.
Just as she thought that Issy stepped up from the sofa, "I know what you're thinking but don't get the shy oddish. You're not confident enough to bring her out of her shell, and she's not confident enough to bring you out of yours."
Issy's reasoning made sense but Fran felt sorry for the shy oddish. She turned to the first oddish, he was very cute and he was dancing happily by her feet. Fran bent down and stroked his leaves, "I guess you're right, I like this little guy though." She smiled at him then looked up at the Professor, again she flushed red before mumbling, "um... Could I get this oddish please?"[/blockquote][/blockquote]

NEXIVUS LABORATORIES ”Um… could I get this oddish, please?” The shyer twin asked quietly.
Hawthorne beamed. ”Of course you may! He seems quite happy with you. Here, after you’ve finished signing those forms, they’re all yours.” The Professor returned the oddishes to their respective pokeballs and handed the male oddish’s pokeball to Fran. Despite the fact that she wanted all her pokemon to be adopted equally, Hawthorne was glad the shy girl’s twin had directed her away from the shy oddish. Issy’s reasoning was very true.
”Well congratulations on your new pokemon, girls!”
