Isabella = Lime Green Francesca = Teal
The twins, Isabella and Francesca, had had a good night's sleep in a pokemon centre after receiving their pokemon. Fran had an oddish named Odori and Iz had received a vulpix named Kirei. They each had another pokemon, Fran had a phanpy named Asobi and Issy had a machop called Tsuyoi. The two trainers and four pokemon had walked from the pokemon lab in the Featherwing City suburubs. They hadn't made it in to the bustling city yet but the houses had gotten smaller and closer together as they approached, now the city limits were only about a 20minute walk away.
Issy smiled at her twin, they didn't look identical today. Isabella was wearing a short sun dress that ended mid-thigh, it was a cool baby blue and poofed out from her waist. Issy also had her hair loose whilst Fran's was tied back into a ponytail. Fran had on denim three-quarter lengths and a pale green tank top, her shoulder's bare. The only matching item that both were wearing was identical, oversized sunglasses.
To their left was an entrance to a small park, a large green field surrounded by border plants and encircled with a path. In its centre was a large pond with plants floating on its surface, trees were dotted around providing shade and a roosting point for bird pokemon. Iz's eyes lit up when she saw it, "That would be a perfect place to have a picnic."
Fran smiled, nodding in agreement and the pair headed through the entrance. They stopped beside the pond and Fran took out her two pokeballs, "Should we let our pokemon enjoy the sunshine?" Issy smiled, "Sure, they'd enjoy it in here it's beautiful" Fran released Odori who twirled around and stretched out his leaves, enjoying the feeling of the sun's warm air; Asobi followed him and she stretched out her trunk, trumpeting happily. Issy let out Kirei who yawned widely and went off to explore the bushes; her second pokemon Tsuyoi came our of his pokeball and laid down contently to catch a little sun. Fran unpacked her rucksack, pulling out sandwiches, crisps, fruit, drinks, snacks and pokemon food. The twins and their pokemon were happy to sit beside the pond and snack in the sunshine, enjoying a beautiful summer day.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

A Starly watched the two girls from its roosting spot up above in the tree. They rested in the tree's shade and he found himself instantly growing quite angry with them. Not only was this his tree and his shade, but they were sitting there using it! Not to mention, they had brought food and neither of the human nor any of the pokemon offered him some of it! How dare they? He chirped and watched, obviously upset as he shook his feathers out and prepared to swoop down on them, trying to decide if he should hit human or pokemon first.
Maybe try and take some food on the way, gobble it down before they realized what happened to them. Yes, that is what he would do. He watched the girl with the green tank top carefully as she pulled out various food items and set them all down. Spreading his wings, he lowered his head and just as he readied to swoop down, he noticed another creature, a Pidove.
The other bird pokemon hopped curiously toward them. It was obviously hungry as well, letting out a few "Pi Dove" chirps, using its best cute appearance, or that was what Starly assumed it was to. Hoping to distract them, she too watched the girl in the tank top before leaping up and quickly taking off for the food, only to have the Starly do the same thing. Rather than grabbing anything, the two flying pokemon smacked right into one another, falling to the ground in a mix of angry wings and feathers. Out of surprise, the two birds tried to separate and the Pidove flew straight toward the girl in the green tank top.
On the other hand, the Starly now took off, more pissed off than he had been to begin with. However, at this particular moment, he just wanted the food and to show all of these creatures who was boss. Starly grasped up a piece of a sandwich before focusing on a Vulpix. Pulling off as much of the sandwich as he could, he then took off quickly toward the Vulpix, using its best quick attack. Unlike Pidove, he did not worry about ending up in trouble. He would really show them now. And he was going to keep the food. It was his now, after all! He huffed and puffed, his temper obviously getting the best of him as he sat there and chirped angrily at the pokemon and trainers around him.
As the Pidove flapped around frantically trying to figure out what had just happened to her and why she had failed in stealing food, she looked frightened at the human. Now she would surely get in trouble for her actions! Using a growl to try and make herself appear tougher, she waited to see what the human before her would do. She still attempted to come off as cute, but knew that this Starly was not helping her case by attacking the pokemon behind her. She landed gracefully and hoped they would just get rid of the Starly and give her the food. Or if anything, maybe he could distract them long enough she could just steal it all unnoticed...

Francesca had barely gotten the food out of her rucksack before a ball of feathers and beaks dropped from the tree above. She wasn't sure if the pokemon, Fran could make out two flying-types, were fighting or had had an accident but they sure were angry. One of them, a starly she could see, had set off towards her sister's vulpix. Isabella reacted quickly, "Kirei, behind you!"
The vulpix span around, just in time to get hit by the quick attack, it knocked her backwards but she landed on her feet. "Kirei, use an ember attack," The vulpix let out a blast of fire, hoping to catch the bird pokemon off-guard whilst it was at close range. The other bird pokemon was a pidove, it seemed less eager to battle and didn't attack the pokemon. Fran didn't want to get it involved in the battle but the sudden entrance of the pokemon, falling from the tree, had spooked Fran's oddish. The pidove growled at Francesca, trying to look tough and Odori took that as a sign of aggression. Attacking in his own way the oddish danced, spinning and twirling, circling around the pidove. Fran could almost laugh it was so cute, that was Odori'd teeter dance which served to confuse nearly all the pokemon they had battled. Her oddish had a strange battle style but it did make for interesting matches. Then, before Fran could stop him, Odori span in a circle, shaking his leaves and releasing a fine pink powder. Fran gulped, oh no, that was sweet scent, it attracted pokemon from all through the area to the user. She looked around nervously, the last time Odori had used that move tens of pokemon appeared, following their noses to get closer to the fine fragrance. Odori had used it to get the pidove off guard, he was clever and knew the bird pokemon had a type advantage but he didn't think about the other effect of sweet scent. Odori used teeter dance then sweet scent on the pidove. Kirei used ember on the starly. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

The Starly chuckled to himself as he managed to catch the Vulpix off guard, smashing right into it. His wings flapped hard a few times as he seemed to mock the Vulpix, gulping down the last bite of stolen food he had in his mouth. However, he was momentarily startled as well as he was suddenly attacked by a close range ember attack. Dropping to the floor, he worried that he might have caught on fire, flopping around sideways momentarily as he could feel the burning sensation passing, he realized it had not really caught him on fire or burnt him too severly.
Looking down at his chest where his white feathers were now a bit scorched, he Growled viciously at the Vulpix. He would show that fool who was in charge! Flapping his wings and leaping into the air once more, he once again flew toward the fire type pokemon, this time attempting a Tackle attack. His goal was to smash into it as hard as he could then try and fly off really quick in the opposite direction so that the pokemon would not use another ember on his front side. However, as shown before, he was not the most graceful of pokemon and this did not seem to work too well for him either.
The Pidove watched the human, her chest still puffed up as she once again tried to decide if she should just snatch the food and run off or not. But at this point, it did not seem as if that would work anymore as there was suddenly an Oddish performing some odd attack. She could not help but focus on it and watch it curiously, only to find herself Confused. Looking around, she suddenly had no idea what was going on, minus the fact that something smelt very good. She had no idea where the Oddish had gone or where anything was.
Growing frustrated, she decided she was just going to escape. Trying to fly away, however, she basically smashed straight into the ground, going the wrong way and then turning in circles. She could not make sense of anything and was certain she had flown the way she always did. So why was she sitting there on the floor? Trying to find the Oddish, she felt as if she could not properly attack and assumed that if she was confused as she had seen other pokemon before, she better just lay off her attacks for a while, until she felt as if she were not going to hurt herself anymore. Not to mention, she was still distracted by the yummy smell the Oddish had made appear.
As for the sweet scent, a few other bird pokemon in the area seemed to pick up on it, but rather than going in to attack as well, they remained in the Starly's tree, watching what was going on down below rather than swooping in to the Oddish. They knew the Starly and hoped to avoid him while finding humor in the Pidove that moved in circles and could not figure out what was happening to it.

Issy smiled as the starly got caught in Kirei's ember attack, she didn't mind that the bird pokemon had stolen some food but no one got away with attacking her pokemon. The starly's chest feathers had been scorched and it rolled around on the floor, trying to put out the fire. The starly was soon up again though, the growl attack making Kirei feel a bit strange and less eager to attack. Issy saw the starly flapping to get into the air and ordered, "Kirei, dodge to the side!"
Her vulpix jumped neatly sideways to avoid the tackle attack, her wary gaze on the nearby pond. "Now, Kirei - use extrasensory," Kirei opened her mouth, power building and a rainbow coloured psychic beam shot out, aiming for the starly. Fran tried not to laugh as the pidove tried to fly downwards, through the ground, her hand over her mouth she giggled. Eventually the pidove gave up and just sat there. The lingering sweet scent had attracted some other pokemon but they were kept at bay by the battle. Odori twirled around happy with himself as he danced and shook his leaves. Fran smiled, shaking her head, Odori was different to every oddish she'd ever seen. "Odori, use absorb." Fran hadn't wanted to engage the pokemon but her oddish had already done that, she reasoned that if she continued they might aquire another pokemon for the team. Odori spun around then put his head down, his leaves directed towards the pidove, beams of red light fired from each leaf towards the confused opponent. If they hit the attack would not only drain the bird pokemon's energy but replenish Odori's energy too. Fran was hopeful about winning, it would give her oddish some experience and if they could weaken the pidove she might even be able to catch it. Odori used absorb on the pidove. Kirei dodged and used extrasensory on the starly. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

The Starly was growing more and more irritated with this Vulpix. Not only did it dodge his attack, but now it was using a psychic one. He did not bother to wince, glaring at the pokemon as the attack hit. He tried to take the hit without giving the Vulpix satisfaction, doing his best not to show his pain as the attack hit and he nearly flinched in response. Still, he managed to get another attack in, attempting another Quick Attack, now speeding back toward the Vulpix once more, body as straight as he could get it to try and hit as hard as he could manage.
The determination to prove he was the owner of this spot became extremely apparent when he then spotted the other gathering pokemon and puffed up, basically cawing at them. "Star!" He shouted, flapping his wings heavily, now partly distracted from his battle as he tried to chase these new free loaders off, giving the Vulpix and its trainer the perfect chance to attack once more. Not that he would really care. At this point, he just wanted to make a show of things, prove he was the big guy around these parts and that NO ONE scared him. Which he seemed to be doing a good job of, at least toward these knew pokemon, who moved from his tree to another, resulting in him a bit less pissed off than before, but still focused on schooling these trainers.
Pidove still had no clue what to do next. Now basically turning in circles, the next thing she knew, she was being hit with an attack. Screeching out with a "Pidove!" She looked like a fool, flailing about with no idea of what was going on around her. Crashing into the floor and rolling around once more, she wished that she had just grabbed the food and ran, that that Starly had not shown up like he did. Normally she was much more stealthy, they would have never caught her if it had not been for him, and now what? She was sitting here flying into the floor, being attacked and so confused she could not do anything back!
In frustration, she attempted a Gust attack, only to hit herself. Not thoroughly upset, she sat still and let out small cries. This was not what she wanted to do! This was all wrong! Her wings flapped once, but she did not bother trying to fly again, waiting to be attacked once more by the Oddish, hoping her confusion would wear off soon, so she could at least retreat and find food somewhere else.

The psychic move hit and, although the starly tried to show no pain, Kirei could feel it using her psychic link with his mind. The link was used to send out the attack and she could feel how it had hit the starly. The rainbow beam faded and Kirei breathed out, it took a lot of effort to attack like that.
The psychic move took a lot of concentration and Kirei was still focused on the psychic move when the starly attacked again. The quick attack hit her hard and she was forced back closer to the pond edge. The fire-type ran back forwards, away from the pond and as the starly turned, flapping his wings to scare off the other pokemon Kirei had her chance. Issy saw it to and ordered, "Kirei, hit it with your best ember attack!"
Kirei opened her mouth crying out as she powered up a strong fire attack. Sending it out with as much force as she could muster the ember blazed towards the distracted starly. Issy smiled, her vulpix was getting so strong, "Now Kirei, follow it up with a tail whip." Kirei shook her long shiny tail, crouched down in a pounching stance, she tried to look intimidating. Issy hoped that the powerful ember, combined with the tailwhip, might convince the starly that her vulpix was a strong pokemon. The pidove spun in circles and looked very confused and lost. The absorb had hit and panicked the pokemon who flapped its wings using a gust attack. The confusion made her launch the attack at herself rather than at Odori. Fran felt really sorry for her but could see an opportunity, whilst the pidove was confused. She unclipped a pokeball from her belt, pressing the button in its centre it enlarged and Fran threw it towards the pidove, hoping to capture it. Kirei used an ember attack then a tail whip on the Starly. Fran used a pokeball on the Pidove. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

The Starly was overly pleased with his direct hit on the Vulpix, shoving it backward toward the pond. Chirping merrily to himself, he made sure all the pokemon around them had seen how powerful his Quick Attack was and knew that once he was done here, he would teach them all, too. However, while he was distracted, he soon found Ember hitting his back once more. Crying out, he fell to the ground. "Sta, Starly!" He cawed as he once again tried to soothe his back, now rolling in the grass. His wings flapped violently as he tore up grass, only making his back hurt more as he smashed it into the floor. He cried out again before once the actual burning started to fade, although he knew that he would be feeling it again later, it would be sore, of that he was certain.
Looking angrily toward the Vulpix as he regained his posture, he found himself watching a Tail Whip. He would admit it was cute and while it made him double think his next attack, the throbbing of his back reminded him. He shook out his wings, grass falling to the floor as well as some feathers, but he was ready to attack once more. He figured this Vulpix was stronger than he had first assumed, but he was not ready to give up, to let it win. That just was not the kind of pokemon he was. No, he wanted to win, to prove to the others that he was the top dog- er bird. Using a Growl on the now more intimidating Vulpix, he then started off with another Tackle. He did not move as quickly this time as he had before, as he was growing more tired now, but he was still trying to hit as hard as he could.
Pulling his wings in to basically hit like a flying rock, he feared the fox would use another ember on him before he even made contact. He was not sure how many more of those scorching fire attacks he could handle! Just the thought made him hurt. Although he would never give these two the satisfaction of knowing that. Holding his most vicious stare, he prepared to hurt this Vulpix. He wanted to just end the battle, snatch up some food, and return to his tree now.
By now Pidove's confusion was wearing off, but it was a bit too late. As she began to shake her head clear, she looked around, trying to determine where the human and Oddish were. However, when she finally made eye contact with them, all she spotted was something spiraling toward her. "Pidove!" She yelled in fright, her wings flapping frantically several times before she was pulled into the Pokeball. The ball then wiggled several times as the creature tried her hardest to escape, but she felt weak and still dizzy from her confusion, so it was not the best escape of her life. The pokeball sealed and she knew she was captured, to which the Starly looked over and chuckled, thinking his fellow flying type was rather pathetic.

Issy was pleased to see the ember managed to hit whilst the starly was distracted. The bird pokemon turned around to see itself faced with a tail whip and Issy could see its confidence waver. However, it took to the air once more, tucking its wings in to launch a tackle attack at Kirei. Kirei had seen it and seemed about to dodge when Issy stopped her, "Kirei, hold it. Wait for my word."
The vulpix looked nervous but held her ground, digging her feet in to take the tackle attack without being forced back towards the pond. The tackle was just about to hit when Issy spoke, "ember attack." The bird pokemon hit as Kirei opened her mouth, breathing out a swirling flame in a controlled ember attack. "Force him towards Odori," Issy wanted to get the oddish involved, if they worked together taking down both pokemon should be easy. The pidove looked confused and panicked as Fran's pokeball drew her in and it didn't shake for long before the ball sealed with a click. Odori was pleased with himself and jumped up and down, shaking his leaves happily. "Odori, help Kirei. Use teeter dance." Odori spun around in agreement, dancing and shaking his leaves he twirled his way around the make-shift battle area in a confusing, twisting dance. "Now, Odori use absorb." In one fluid movement the oddish released red beams of power from the tips of each leaf, firing them at the starly, aiming to drain his energy. Fran grinned happily as the pidove was captured, she ran forward to scoop up the red and white ball. This pidove was her third pokemon and she knew exactly what to name her, Ryu. Ryu was a character in one of her favourite books and lived in the trees, jumping between branches like she was flying. Fran was very happy to have captured a bird type, they were very powerful and would make the upcoming gym match easier. She'd read that the gym leader in Featherwng City used bird pokemon as her speciality type. Odori used teeter dance then absorb on the starly. Kirei used ember on the starly. The Starly was beyond surprised to suddenly see itself being hit with another ember! Frightened, it did its best to move backward and evade the attack, but it was really no use! The flames were too hot! Doing the best he could to blow them back with his wings, it finally seemed to be working, not that the damage had not already happened. His face and chest were both scorched, the feathers burnt and the skin throbbing. He cringed, but did not let out a cry. No, he still had to show these people and pokemon who was boss! Shaking his head, he looked back toward the Oddish who seemed to be attempting to attack him as well. However, he had seen the Oddish use its teeter dance on the Pidove and was not going to fall for it.
Quickly taking to the air, he did the best he could to avoid looking at the creature. No, no, no! He would not become confused! However, in his attempt to avoid the confusion, he was suddenly hit with another attack, an absorb! He could feel his energy being drained and no longer found this battle fair. Not one bit! He looked down at them in a rage. He would show them! This was still his tree! With a weak and tired effort, he tried the best Quick Attack he could manage, aiming now for the Oddish, rather than the Vulpix. He doubted that grass type attacks would hurt nearly as much as the fire ones had. Shaking his head, he again straightened his body the best he could before going in another dive bomb toward the new target. Oh, how he could feel his despise for this group building up more and more. Especially now that he was growing to be so exhausted!

Kirei's ember attack hit the starly hard, singing the bird pokemon's feathers. Fran could see the pain on the starly's face but the flying type didn't let out a single sound. Instead, he took to the sky turning to face Odori rather than Kirei. The oddish's teeter dance hadn't had an affect as the starly desperately avoided looking at the grass type. As Odori stopped dancing the starly dived in a steep quick attack. Fran reacted quickly, "Odori, dodge it!"
The Oddish danced to the side on light feet, spinning with delight in the battle and beginning another teeter dance, more in excitement than as an actual attack. Regardless, the dance could almost confuse Fran, it was peppered with strange twists and leaf movements that seemed to please Odori. Issy turned to Kirei, "Okay, last time. Use an ember attack, Kirei!" The vulpix ran towards the starly on light feet and opened her mouth to exhale a spinning vortex of flames designed to burn the bird type. "Okay, Kirei return!" Issy unclipped a pokeball and tossed it towards the starly. She hoped that the teeter dance had confused the starly and the ember had done enough extra damage to make catching the tiring pokemon easier. Despite usually being quite logical Issy quickly crossed her fingers for good luck, hoping that would make a difference. Odori dodged and used teeter dance. Kirei used ember.
