Adler walked into the Laboratory very anxious and excited to start his journey finally after 18 years. His remembered what his mother told him about his manners. He was after all an adult and he needed to start acting like one. She had taught him manners and values and things it was something he carried with him his whole life, chivalry was all he knew along with some rebellion for very authoritative figures. The lab seemed quaint and warm and Adler noticed all the pokemon assistants roaming around, some he hadn't even seen before in person, only through his television or his computer back home.
Adler took his few timid steps up to the main counter. He was completely unsure on how to greet himself, but he was there to get his life started so he needed to be assertive but kind when he spoke, he had heard "things" about this region like the pokemon showing symptoms of hostility. So any weakness would be his downfall in a place like this.
Adler reached the counter and decided to speak, his mother's words of advice as he built up the courage to say what he went over so many times in his head. "E-Excuse me? Professor Hawthorne? I was wondering if I could trouble you for a Pokemon? If you have any, a Zorua would be nice" Adler spoke clear but slightly timid something he didn't want to sound like. He hoped his manners had served him well...

PROF. HAWTHORNE
Professor Hawthorne blinked at the young man’s abruptness at entering her laboratory and requesting a Zorua. It seems they were becoming a crowd favorite amongst her trainers. She didn’t know how this strange man already discerned what she had in storage. It took all of her will power not to interrogate on where he was getting his information. Hawthorne imagined some juvenile teenager spying on her while she was taking inventory of her Pokémon, but quickly shuttered and retreated from the thought. Disgusting! She lived, ate, and slept in her laboratory, which means the person who was giving out the information could also know a few private truths about her as a person as well.
With a forced smile Maria said, “One moment, please.” As she hurried away she pondered whether she should ask more about her guest. She didn’t even know his name, nor could she decipher much of his personality besides the fact that he was painfully meek. That never made a good trainer, but perhaps he’d warm up as soon as he interacted with his new companion. Once at the back of her home, the professor grabbed the second to last Zorua Poké Ball and made her way back to the awaiting trainer. Somewhere along the trip she retrieved a starter pack as well, for it was slung across her pack. Professor Hawthorne beamed brightly before handing the young man the Poké Ball containing his Zorua and his starter pack. “Aw. I wish you could have stayed for tea.”
You've received a Zorua!

Adler gleamed at his new partner, it was every bit as cute as he had seen. He was glad to have it as his first official Pokemon. "OH! my how rude of me, Professor, my name is Adler, I came from Blackthorn City in The Jhoto region and I am here to start my very own Pokemon journey. I did as much research on this region before I even knew it was possible to get here. This has always been my dream
Adler let out his new Pokemon. It was a female Zorua, who seemed very quirky in nature. "I think, just maybe I'm going to call you, Sif, yea, yeah Sif fits you nicely!"

PROF. HAWTHORNE
Much to the professor’s surprise, the man hadn’t run away after receiving the Zorua. It was half expected considering how quickly he’d entered and asked for it without so much as a greeting. Nonetheless it put a smile on the older woman’s face as she witnessed his reaction to the new Pokémon. Then in a flurry of words introduced himself and explained his fixation with Nexivus in a matter of seconds. Professor Hawthorne blinked in amazement before giggling and saying, “It’s quite alright, Adler. A pleasure to meet you, as well. And what a unique name, might I add.”
Adler sounded shockingly similar to adder—a poisonous snake from a distant land that the professor had researched—so she couldn’t help but wonder whether there was any sort of relation. Of course, she wouldn’t vocalize her foolish thoughts, and instead said, “Wow, then you should be more than prepared to journey through Nexivus region! Do watch out for the Noctus Pokémon, however.” Maria hoped desperately the man’s studies had also covered that little tid bit, mostly because she was in too much of a good mood to explain the sad topic.
