Z was wandering about the outskirts of Featherwing City, starring down at a pokeball. But it wasn't Zorua's ball. No, this one was a Riolu. How did it wind up in his bag? When did it get there? Apparently, this was another starter that the professor had planned to give somebody. But now it was in Alex's possession. He would return it but... Nah. Riolu is nice.~
It was around midnight, and Alex was about to turn in for the night. First, he was going to test the skills of his new Pokemon. The moon was out in crescent glory, and Z was looking for practice.

The pokemon made his way through the street, his strut very obvious in the way he walked. He had a cocky appearance to himself, moving with ease down the street, shooting a glare at any and all who looked at him, of the few that were still awake. Mostly Hoothoot here and there, making noises at him before flying away, not wanting to start a fight with the fellow. Not many humans were still out this point, and he was a bit distraught by the idea that he would not be able to find a real battle out this late, meaning he would have to go to bed and wait until the morning, but that never seemed to work for him. He had always been such a night owl.
Timburr swung around his square logs, it being obvious that he was having a bit of trouble with them, but he would never actually give another the joy of knowing that. So whenever he saw them, he would do his best to lift the logs higher and swing them with a more eased expression. Moving about excitedly, he finally found something which might be worth battle. Moving quickly in that direction, he watched the human with a grin on his face. Ooh how perfect this was! { Tim! } He called out, jumping up once as he lowered his arms as well as the logs, not trying as hard now to lift them as he had before. If he was right, this fellow would have at least one pokemon, which meant a battle.
He stared at the human daringly and lifted the logs, obviously wanting a battle and preparing to attack anything that was sent out after him. Immediately using Leer on the boy, he held his cocky stance, eyes focused on the creature and waiting to see how it would respond. He was overly pleased to have found this before retiring for the night, as it meant if anything, he would get a good rest before the morning, when he could find another pokemon to battle and show up. {Burr } he smiled, waiting patiently for whatever came next.

Alex was immediately alert when he heard a name called out. But my name isn't Tim... Then it was very apparent what had shown up. A wild pokemon by the name of Timburr, and a very cocky one at that. It challenged him with a Leer... Such passion... Simple, misguided passion. Alex pulled out a second pokeball and tried to decide... it was dangerous, but he decided to put a Dark type out first.
He silently tossed the pokeball which summoned... Riolu? That would take some getting used to, but he knew that Zorua was a keen illusionist, and her ability to take the form of other Pokemon was uncanny. Now, the Timburr may not be expecting the next move.
"Extrasensory."
The disguised Zorua focused and released a powerful surge of invisible psychic energy. Whether the attack hit or missed, the illusion would break, revealing the Zorua.

The Timburr was a bit surprised to see a Riolu appear before him, but immediately nodded in excitement. Another fighting type. Heh, no problem. He chuckled to himself, tossing his bulky wood into the air and catching it, placing it before himself and smiling at the pokemon. He was hoping for a good battle, one where his opponent would make it more than two attacks. Or something like that. But most of the pokemon in this area were weak. On the other hand, he had to be at least a bit strong. He was not that old and was already level six. Holding the timber to protect himself, he waited patiently for the Riolu to use some sort of combat move and more likely than not enter close range.
However, much to his surprise, this pokemon used an extrasensory, which in return revealed it for its true self. A Zorua. Flinching as the attack hit, he pulled the log back behind himself and used a Focus Energy. Raising his attack, he kept his eyes solely on the Dark type. He would admit, if he new any real fighting type moves right now, he would be more than pleased to be fighting the Zorua rather than a Riolu, but he did not. Staring down the pokemon before him, he looked her over. She was obviously a starter from the lab. No stronger than level five, or so he figured. Rushing toward it, he attempted a Pound attack, in which case he would swing the log around and use it for his attack, smashing it into the Zorua.
Keeping his 'better than you' stance, the pokemon smirked. He would show this Zorua who was the boss. And then he would move on to its trainer. Looking toward the human, he nodded his head, making sure to catch the trainer's gaze for at least a moment. That way he knew it had seen he would go for him once he was done with this Zorua. While his ego was big, so was his will power. He would never give up, even after being knocked out. This was a primary reason the others would not fight the cocky bastard. They would make him faint and he would wake up then search for them to fight again. Rather obnoxious.
Timburr used Focus Energy and Pound

Great, it knows stat boosts. That's to be expected though. Fighting types are almost nothing if they can't power themselves up. At this small a level, Zorua might not be able to take a hit like that more than once. It was a cheap method, but it was all he could afford. Extrasensory is powerful, super effective, and can cause a flinch. So that would be the best bet to win this first battle.
"Extrasensory!"
Once again, Zorua released a shockwave of psychic energy. Once Pound hit, the Timburr should catch the full force of it at close range.

The Timburr’s smug grin widened as he bashed the Zorua in the side with a powerful Pound attack. It felt like a critical hit from his end, but he couldn’t be sure. His opponent was still standing and didn’t really seem fazed by it. Good! It knew how to defend itself well enough. Maybe this battle would last longer than he’d originally predicted. Of course he had to admit there was some profound satisfaction in incapacitating his opponent two seconds into the battle. Crude as it may be, it felt amazing.
A sudden blast of kinetic energy disrupted the distracted fighting type’s concentration and caused him to stumble. What the hell, again!? The Timburr blinked at the abrupt assault, still in shock. Psychic based attacks were such cheap shots. This was a test of physical strength, not mental! He pointed the hefty log at his opponent and barked, < Enough cheating. Fight me! > He smashed the base of his log into the ground and growled fiercely. It wasn’t one of his known attacks, but it was a sound of irritation none the less. The fighting type narrowed his eyes into an intimidating Leer before sprinting in for another Pound.

This one was stubborn... Typical fighting Pokemon that only thinks with brutality. Such simple-minded tactics. If they could even be called tactics. But if it wanted physical contact, then physical contact it will have.
"Stare it down while using Scratch!"
On command, Zorua used leer as she intercepted the Pound with tiny, extended claws. Sure, it won't do much, but Zolanius had a plan.
