Braids had better brought her out for something good, but in her mind, her dazzling petals needed the fresh air. She sighed wistfully, glancing a her flowery limbs with slight boredom before angling her head towards her trainer questioningly. Out of all the humans she met, this one seemed more her style; the fancy clothing, the vain, no nonsense attitude... "Don't you look stunning, little lady. We're in the waterworks...someplace you can easily train. Maybe we'll even catch a new addition to the party." She sniffed with slight irritation towards his words, although was pleased with the first part, naturally. But another addition to the party? Please...she was everything he would ever need, and more pokemon meant more competition for attention and affection, something Belladonna never enjoyed being second best for. She turned her attention back onto the luscious scenery, secretly pleased of its beauty as her tiny feet soaked up both sunlight and water at the same time, giving her strength and confidence. The man beside her took a few idle pictures with his camera, making sure to catch the tanks of water as well as the foliage around the area. A couple shots would do, he didn't want to scare away any potential pokemon, and tucked the camera back into his coat. Watching from the water as a trainer released his Roselia, the water pokemon felt rather annoyed. It was the beauty in these parts, and this fellow was complimenting that pokemon as being dazzling, or something along those lines. It did not listen to anything else he had to say or what the pokemon did in reply, just that was enough to make it mad. Moving closer to the shore, the Staryu glared at the Roselia, obviously wishing ill fortune on the grass type. It knew that water was weak against it, but that was not going to stop it. This thing was not stunning. She was ugly.

"Staryu," The word slurred together and made a rather odd noise as it splashed out of the water and just onto the shore. Its 'feet' were still splashed by the water, and it prepared to attack the grass type pokemon. The Roselia appeared to be engulfed in having the man's attention on her, something that this Staryu now yearned for, just so that she could not have it. A flash made it even more angry as the man now took pictures of the Roselia, but the Staryu was certain it was in the background, at least. Plus, if it could beat the shit out of that Roselia, he would be snapping full pictures of it instead. The Staryu was pleased by this idea and used it to keep focused on winning the battle it now planned to start.

Starting off with Harden, it then used the strongest Water Gun it could muster up. Knowing it would not be that effective on the Roselia, it really just wanted to make itself noticed. "Staryu!" The word again ran together as the pokemon made sure all eyes were on it. It now stood strong, waiting for whatever the Roselia would unleash upon it and hoping to keep the attention of its master.

And, she added with a smirk, never leave her side. She'd prove that she was the best, most beautiful fighter on his team and if she had to beat the stuffing out of some hapless pokemon, then so be it. Her head turned in all possible directions, brows rising occasionally when she heard rustling behind bushes, or of idle splashing in the water. So far, she saw nothing that caught her interest, most of her focus making sure Braids caught her good side and didn't hover indecisively over something for too long. Turning towards the side, she caught his attentive stare behind her and smirking, returned to her scouting - only to be caught dead on with a shot of water. The droplets trickled down her face, and the Roselia fumed, eyebrow twitching with irritation as her confident smirk transformed into a horrid scowl. Anger was something that didn't compliment her graceful face. Who had the audacity to squirt her? Who? She silently demanded, but her answer was revealed when her narrowed eyes landed upon a Staryu."ROSEEEELIA!" She pointed accusingly towards it, catching Braids' attention. He glanced up, and his eyes lit up with interest. A Staryu...perfect! He admired the gleam inside its gem, a glittering where it just emerged from the water. It was beautiful, and a Starmie would make a lovely addition to his team. His ruddy red eyes were only for it now. "Wow, would you look at that."He muttered approvingly, quiet and thoughtful for only himself to hear. But Belladonna heard anyway, and her scowl deepened into rabid jealousy. She prepared to attack. "Bella, use Absorb...then try a Stun Spore." The grass type was more than eager to comply, although she would have liked throwing a more offensive move, and pointed her flowering limbs towards the star fish pokemon, uttering a tittering huff as the Absorbs swirled towards the Staryu. After that, she released a yellowish pollen into the air, also directed towards it (to avoid getting it near her trainer) hoping to stun the creature long enough to land a few successful attacks. The Staryu was disgusted by the Roselia using a grass attack on it to start things off. Sure, it knew that the pokemon was a grass type and that was a weakness, but still. The attack hurt, draining the Staryu's energy as it breathed hard for a few moments before it noticed the Stun Spore coming toward it. No, that would not do. It could not already end up immobile due to this pokemon. It had to show the trainer that it was really the best and that he was only wasting his time with the Roselia. Trying to move quickly to the side and dodge the attack, it used a rapid spin to hopefully blow away the spores and the spin into the Roselia at the same time.

Spinning as quickly as it could, the Staryu seemed to succeed in defeating the Stun Spore, at least this time around. Continuing the attack toward the pokemon before himself, his arms each stuck out and with the spinning, made them act like knives almost. The faster it could move, the more the arms would hurt, that was a well known fact. However, that absorb had already weakened it quite a bit, and so the attack was neither as fast nor as powerful as it had hoped when it first took off in the motion.

After ending its attack, it tried to move backward quickly, hoping to be ready for the Roselia's next attack. It's gem gleamed in the sunlight and the water behind it seemed to make it glisten even more. This added to its beauty and it hoped that this fact would make the female pokemon more jealous and perhaps ruin its focus for its next attack. Although it doubted this would actually happen, since the trainer was interested in it, but would surely pick its own pokemon over a wild one.

It was almost impressive, but it took a lot for the red head to appreciate the antics of certain pokemon. Beauty was one thing, but power came a close second. The Stun Spore fell hazardously upon the Staryu, but the creature was prepared, brain already formulating a way to dodge the attack. It spun itself around, the momentum of the attack blowing the fuzzy particles back towards Roselia. The grass type blinked with shock, shuffling back on her tiny legs before the cloud could descend on her, but boy was she mad! Not only did that Staryu hit her with a water gun before the initial battle begun, but now it had the gall to actually reverse her own attack?! Its sharp limbs flew towards the Roselia, who was too caught up in fury to evade. They hit her across her stomach, and she yelped in pain, her petal dress bruised as she tried to mask hr discomfort. Braids directed her calmly, successfully holding back his praise towards the switch up."Growth...then Absorb again!!" Braids didn't want the star fish pokemon to fall victim to a Poison Sting or a Seed Bomv in fear he would make it faint and be unable to catch it. He had to slowly weaken it. Belladonna's petal flared, absorbing energy from the soil, the air, and the moisture in the foliage, making her aura swell with even more power before she aimed her limbs towards it. Once more, the swirling emerald beam danced elegantly towards the Staryu, greedy for more of its energy. Let's see you try to avoid this! The Staryu was pleased that its tactic had worked. A perfect spin had allowed it to not only blow the attack back at the Roselia, but also go spiraling toward it, managing to hit it once more. It was pleased with itself so far, but did not bother to drop its guard. It assumed this pokemon was stronger than itself, not to mention, if it wanted to prove itself to the trainer, well it would have to stay on top of things. Show this Roselia that it was the best and that she was not even close. Leaning forward as its attack ended, not bothering to back up all too much, it knew that it was now being a bit cockier than it should have been.

This was quickly bad for the pokemon as it stood there, the Roselia quickly using a growth attack and then countering with an absorb. The Staryu was displeased with this show, not only was it now far weaker than before from a grass type attack, but the ugly thing before it had gained back some energy as well! And not only had it done this once, but twice, now! "Star!" It shouted in annoyance, but used a Harden quickly, in case the pokemon decided to try that again. Its best offense against a grass type might end up being its defense, and raising it as much as possible from the start would probably be the best idea. Not to mention, it did sort of help make it feel a bit better after that Roselia's strong absorb.

Leaping forward, it again began to spin as fast as it could, its attack weaker and slower than before as it attempted to once again use its sharp arms to bring pain to the Roselia. In fact, that was all that was really on its mind at this point, making that Roselia suffer and proving itself as the strong one. It was no longer as focused on the trainer, no longer caring as much if he noticed its strength. No. Now all that mattered was showing this Roselia its strength and that it would not give up that easily.

She was feeling a little better now after its Rapid Spin attack landed upon her chest, and the bruise had already began to fade. Her eyes narrowed almost playfully upon the creature, almost condescending as she wiped the look of coyness from her face and replaced it with a burning determination to win the battle. She rounded upon the Staryu, mocking it with her arms crossed in front of her eerily as she closed in, hitting the Rapid Spin with her arms. The attack was misplaced and already weak, so it did little damage to her - and it gave her the opportunity to put her trainer's plan and her vengeance into reality. She focused heavily upon the star fish pokemon, waves of zoning energy aiming directly for it as she unleashed her Mind Reader attack, before flailing out her limbs in an outward, arching motion, sending a flurry of stormy Stun Spore flurries dead its way. Meanwhile, ruddy eyes blinked approvingly, liking the direction this battle was heading. Once the pokemon was paralyzed, he'd start step two of his plan. The Staryu huffed, realizing that its Rapid Spin had not worked so well this time. As the Roselia seemed pleased with its choice in attack, it realized that it had made a mistake. Doing the best it could to quickly retreat from the grass type, it was far too late! The thing had grabbed a hold of it and was now using a Mind Reader! It tried to free itself, but it was no use, the attack was working and it knew what was coming next. The attack that it had worked so hard to dodge previously was going to be coming at it and there was nothing it could do! Trying vigorously to free itself and then get out of the way, it was too late.

Standing there in its spot, the paralysis was quickly setting in. It felt frozen, unable to move. It was growing much more angry than before and little pieces of static could be seen around his body. He flinched a few times and tried to jerk himself free, but it was no use. The attack was too good and he was too weak. But! It would not give up yet. Looking distraught for a moment, it quickly lifted itself properly (or the best it could to being proper while being paralyzed) and embraced itself for whatever came next.

She had actually paralyzed it! Served it right for thinking it could actually come close to obtaining any of her trainer's affections - and squirting her so rudely with that pestering water gun in the first place! Roselia grinned, giggling cutely as she swagered towards her opponent, never letting it leave her sights. Braids reached into his coat pocket, digging around for something that Hawthorne bequeathed him at the start of his Nexivus journey. There! A round object filled his hand and he brought it out into the open. He would obtain that Staryu and make it into a real fighter worth his time. Maybe it would even grow stronger than Belladonna in the long run. Either way, he tossed it into the air mockingly, brows arched approvingly towards the Staryu as it struggled to free itself from its paralyzed state. "Don't worry, Staryu. I'll give you all the power and appreciation you need. All you need do is accept me as your master." He chuckled, eyes glittering maliciously behind his goggles. Pride seeping through his actions he arched his hand above his head before throwing the pokeball towards the water pokemon in hopes to catch it. BABY, YOU'LL BE FAMOUS, CHASE YOU DOWN UNTIL YOU LOVE ME, PAPARAZZI THAT BOY IS MINE words

The Staryu did not really care that it was paralyzed, if not for the fact that it wanted to show this Roselia that it was, in fact, the best! It wriggled some more, but as it looked back toward the trainer, it could see something better than defeating the Roselia was about to happen. It had proven itself as awesome to the trainer, which meant that it could join this team. That also meant that it could beat the Roselia from the inside. If it chose to continue despising the beautiful grass type after joining its team. Still, as the pokeball flew into the air and opened, sucking it in, the pokemon did not bother to struggle much, not that it really could anyway. It was still paralyzed after all! And not to mention, it was a water type, which meant the paralysis affected it worse. As the pokeball sealed, the Staryu was pleased with itself. At least from this point on, it knew it would only be getting stronger.
