Emmett cracked his knuckles and popped his back as he made his way into the battle arena. He looked down at his Blitzle who hoped around. He had been looking for a new female to hit on today, but so far, all of them seemed too busy battling to pay him any mind. This lowered his spirits, but he was soon over it once he realized that he would be able to see one of the funniest things in his entire life shortly - Emmett and Kourier battling. Emmett had chosen a Growlithe egg because he had wanted a strong fire type, but with how Kourier was born, he worried that would never happen. Not that it would stop him from trying. He looked the pokeball over in his hand before stopping on one of the open fields. It was plain, just a dirt field with a few patches of grass and the occasional stone spotted throughout. It had lines clearly chalked across it and he took his place at one side of the field.
Upon entering, he had been given a partner to battle with. By the sound of the name, he assumed it was a female. Getting his best 'I'm sexy face' on, he felt the pokeball over in his hand. He looked over at the girl and raised his eye brows at her, but decided that he should battle first, talk later. Since they might get kicked off the fields, especially if they took too long to start the battle. Tossing the pokeball into the air as he raised his arm above his head (unnessecarily flexing as he did so) he caught it as it came back and looked down, almost ashamed as Kourier was released from the pokeball. Instantly she yipped and ran in three circles before plopping onto her butt, trying to catch her tail by sticking her head between her legs and tugging up, only to realize something - that really hurt! She yelped and looked back at Emmett, who pretended to ignore her.
"A single battle. One pokemon each," He called out, repeating what he had signed up for. The little Growlithe yipped again and he sighed. "C'mon Kourier, we are going to battle, not play" He moaned in the quietest tone he could managed to snap out at her. His greasy hair stuck up every which way it could and he was already sweating from the heat, emitting a sort of 'manly' stench. He would be a good looking guy, if he cared more about his appearance. Wiping some dirt off his jeans, he then smeared it across the wife beater he wore, lifting his aviators to his eyes (hoping to not only up his sex appeal, but also block out the hot sun at the same time). "You ready?" He smiled flirtaciously at his opponent. Blitzle plopped down with a smile and waited to see how this would work out for his trainer.

Well, this had been an interesting transition. At one moment, Ami had been exploring the city; in the next, she had been swept towards the Battle Arena of the area... okay, that wasn't exactly true. Swablu's pent-up energy upon the sight of a battle-poster finally came to fruition, literally dragging Ami along to sign up for the next open spot.
"Well, you're eager, aren't you?"
It didn't take long for Ami to sign a waiver (man, there was a lot of paperwork around here, wasn't there?) to participate in the battle arena, and even less time for a trainer 'around her level' to be found and pitted against... someone named Emmett? Upon entering the simple arena... Ami sighed, bringing her palm to her face. Wow, this guy seemed bent on acting like a damn fool, didn't he? Someone that forward would just be impossible to talk to normally.
Focus, focus...
"You ready for this, Swablu?"
Getting her mind back into the game, the eager blue ball flew from Ami's shoulder, giving a few confident beats of the wing as she descended down to Growlithe's eye level, a good twenty feet away that would be soon closed once the battle would start.
"Well, whenever you are," Ami replied, rather boredly... not because of the battle, but because this man was simply too freaking forward! She tried to exude an aura of pure 'not interested'.
Ami sent out Swablu!

Emmett did not see Ami's boredom as a response to his forwardness, but rather as a response to him not being forward enough. She had to want him, just like every other woman. But now, it was time to battle, so he would have to hold off. Make her more eager for him to speak to her again. Yes, that was the game plan now. He grinned down at Blitzle, who was no longer paying attention to him, but had rather perked up at the sight of the female Swablu. He knew that he could not go into the battle field, so instead he trotted along the chalky lines, stamping around as he followed in Emmett's footsteps, shooting his best 'hey baby' look at the Swablu, sure he would get a chance to talk to it after it killed little Kourier.
Emmett chuckled to himself before looking out at his pokemon. Suddenly, he remembered why this was not so great. Sure, he was the greatest man who ever walked the face of the earth, but look at his pokemon! The damned thing was now rolling about in the dirt and grass, tongue lolling out of her mouth as she playfully pawed the air before looking at the Swablu. Leaping to her paws, she took off toward the thing, in what looked like she was charging it for an attack. Yes! Emmett grinned again, certain his pokemon was going to attack. "Good girl! Use a Bite!" He shouted, only to suddenly frown. The pokemon was not going to attack, it was going to play. Again feeling a face palm moment, he seemed to growl at himself.
The Growlithe leaped into the air, barking playfully at the Swablu. <Friend, friend!> She bounced about, kicking up the dirt excitedly. Ooh how she loved friends! And this one just had to be one! Look at how fluffy it was! She grinned and yipped again, waiting to see if it would play with her. Lowering her front half and waving around her butt, she again leaped into the air and tried to grab onto it to pull it down to her level. How was she supposed to play when the thing was so high in the air? She whined and her eyes pleaded for the thing to come down and see her. Her tail wagged and she again ran in a circle, barking once more. Emmett could not help but feel as if he should just walk off the field right now. 'Are you shitting me?' His mind growled at him and he paced against the line for a moment before an idea hit him. Once the Swablu attacked little Kourier, she would have to decide it was not a friend and attack it back! Perfect!
Kourier charged Swablu... then ran in circles!
OoC|| Attack first, please? XD

The cascade of events was enough for Ami to begin another facepalm. For one, there was this Blitzle at the sidelines, who had the same lusty look in his eyes towards the Swablu that the trainer had for herself! Well, it was true what they say... Pokemon turn out to be a lot like their trainers. In this case, both of them were freaking horn-dogs.
The Swablu tensed itself as the Growlithe made its approach... and, decided that it was a good idea to play, actually. Wow, this made Ami feel rather bad about doing this... it was clear that this Pokemon didn't want to battle, and that its trainer was trying to make it battle! What kind of self-serving jerk would do such a thing to their pokemon? Swablu glanced back over at her trainer, who shrugged, trying to think of the best way to go about this.
"Um... Feather Dance?"
With a chirp, the Swablu complied: beginning to beat its wings, a white 'cloud' began to form around the young dragon, an array of feathers calmly falling to the ground around herself, in an effort to gently coat the Growlithe in these falling feathers. It was far from an offensive move, but Ami didn't feel like coercing a creature who didn't want to battle, to battle.
So, why not give it feathers to play with? If nothing else, it would further enrage the other trainer who was trying to flirt with her... and if the Growlithe did attack, it would have a little less bite to his 'bite'.
Swablu used Feather Dance!

Emmett could not help but roll his eyes at what was now happening. As if it were not bad enough that Kourier was sitting there flopping about like a moron, the other pokemon did not even bother to attack her! He grumbled again, kicking a stone, which in turn flew toward Growlithe. The dog-like pokemon sat there playing with the leaves, blowing them up toward the Swablu, who she now wanted to come down and play with her in the feathers. Oh, how she loved her friends! Her tail wagged and again becoming distracted, she turned to catch it once more, panting as he could not seem to get a hold of the tricky thing. Emmett watched her with the utmost disappointment, wondering why he had decided to try this in the first place. He sighed, but as he began to give up all hope, the rock seemed to skid and shoot some dust and dirt up toward little Kourier.
What was this? She growled at the dirt, her stance lowering to a more proper battle one. Emmett perked up a bit. This might turn out right after all! He found himself growing excited as the dog looked up at the flying one. How dare it fling dirt at her! She growled again, now turning to face it. <You are no friend! You are really an enemy, aren't you?> She snapped, her paws shifting as she really did prepare to attack this time. She lowered herself then leaped up to use the most angry and strong bite attack she could muster up. Even so, it was not much, as she still had the attention span of a Slowpoke, or somethin of that sort. She was going to show this thing! It could not just go around picking on her!
Almost leaping into the air in excitement, Emmett could feel his hands shaking. Oh man, she had actually done something besides playfully lick! He watched the pokemon curiously as she tried to bite the Swablu before letting go and dropping back to the floor. She snarled at it and he figured it found out that she decided it was the one who made dirt flutter into the air, not him. Perfect~ He waited to see if the other trainer would actually attack this time in response. She would want her Swablu to protect itself, no? And he would do what he could to remind Growlithe that this was a battle, not play time.

Well, for a few precious moments, Swablu had enticed the Growlithe with an array of feathers for it to play with, the small fiery canine blissfully playing with the leaves while the Swablu observed, Ami giving a sigh at the sight before her. Well, forcing a battle was bad, but now they were wasting the time of the judge, who seemed just about to kick them out for this stupid display... that was, until Emmett decided to be a jerk and throw a rock inside of the battle. It didn't hit either of them, but... the jerk!
And somehow, some way, this action enticed the canine into an attacking pose. With a questioning chirp, the Swablu beat its wings a few times, taking to the air in front of the Growlithe, matching its opponent's battle-pose, at least in stance. Well, this was going to be interesting... but with a feather-dance already off by technicality, could this really be considered a fair fight?
"Swablu, peck!"
With Growlithe about to bite, there was no time to think about the morals! As the canine came charging forth, the blue puff-ball charged forth herself with a speedy counter, aiming a peck directly for the biting canine's sensitive nose, intending to trade blows with this... odd... puppy.

Kourier was pleased to make contact with the blue one. Teach it to fling dirt at her again! However, she quickly took a peck back to the those, to which she squealed and cried in response. Shaking her face, she now decided completely that this pokemon was a mortal enemy! She had to kill it! Prancing around as she rubbed a paw over her throbbing nose, she glared at the thing, using a Roar. Although it really had no affect. Her roar was more like a puppy bark, plus it was a one and one battle anyway. Not to mention, she did not even use it on the Swablu, just in general. To show that she was not just a little playful puppy!
"Use bite again," Emmett called out, to which she nodded. Trying another bite, attack, she knew it would be harder to pull off with the Swablu in the air and her grounded. Leaping as high as she could, she was going to go for its feet and drag it back down to the ground. Although she did not believe she weight enough for this strategy to work anyway. Not to mention, there was suddenly a Spoq prancing along the side lines. She had done her best to use her most fearsome bite on the thing before letting go and barking happily toward Spoq, who urged her to continue the battle. With a yawn and a roll of her eyes, she turned to look back at the Swablu. Fiine, she would battle. What ever! She did have to kill this thing anyway, right? She remembered quickly, staring at it angrily before barking, again prancing about on the ground.

What was this, some sort of bi-polar Growlithe? At one second, it made a determined jump, just barely catching Swablu's foot in its teeth, causing the bird to give a small 'yip' in pain as the fangs sank in... and in the next, it let go, flippantly running away towards the sidelines to its Blitzle friend. Once again, Ami found herself giving a face-palm to this entire battle... well, if she had to take this seriously, she was going to have to put in some better firepower! After all, serious or not, this was a battle, and Swablu was going to have to do all she could to defend herself... and to win!
"Alright, let's try an astonish!"
With an affirming chirp, a purple light appeared over the Swablu's eyes as the small dragon made a dive towards the Growlithe. Wasting little time, as it came into a short range, a bright flash exuded from her eyes, as she simultaneously gave a small-yet-powerful kick towards the Growlithe's face, a small ghostly aura surrounding the claw in an effort to rake across and damage the fiery canine...
Ami sighed to this whole ordeal, merely looking at the other trainer with disdain. Come on, Ami thought, this thing doesn't want to battle! Why are you making it?

The Growlithe was caught off guard by the astonish attack. Shaking her head, she looked about, grunting, trying to figure out what just happened, because man did it hurt! She cried out and glared at the Swablu again! It was her mortal enemy! She growled and lowered her head, no longer really listening to what Emmett had to say, since she only had one realy attack anyway. Lowering herself into the most aggresive stance she could pull off, she barked at the pokemon. She was going to kill it! She was not sure where she had been hit, but it felt like it was her face! Yipping and crying, she rolled around in a patch of grass before flopping over and panting.
Finally leaping back to her feet, she started off back toward the Swablu. Her face was no longer burning, but it still throbbed. She was breathing quite heavily as she leaped toward the Swablu. This time she was not playing around, she wanted to hurt it! Doing the best she could to clamp down on it, she did not plan on letting go so easily this time. Emmett grinned to himself watching the scene. 'Yes, finally!' He cheered in his head. She seemed to be getting the hang of it a bit more. He just would not be able to use her in battles unless she decided the other pokemon was not a friend first. He made a mental note of that for future reference, figuring that otherwise, trying to battle was of no use.
"Good job, Kourier!" He called out and she responded with a wag of her tail and a twitch of her ear. Oh! Emmett was proud of her! Happy day. Her paws kicked out as dropped back to the floor, catching herself the best she could. She was still breathing hard, and looked up toward the pokemon, basically mocking it to attack her again! She would show it! She understood this now. Her tail wagged again and in her mind, this battle once again became somewhat of a game. Only one of the meaner games, like King of the Hill. But better since she could use the fun attacks she knew. Of course, the fact that this flying, puffy thing knew more than her was a bit upsetting, but she would ignore it this time around. Still, she took her more playful stance again, waiting for the pokemon to try and attack her again!

Again, this angry ball of fur had found it necessary to grab onto the Swablu's foot, to try and drag it down with her! This little female cloud wasn't about to just take it lying down, though; after all, the Growlithe was right in front of its face. Now it was starting to piss her off as well!
<Get off of me!>
This feeling was strongly conveyed as the Swablu powerfully turned its head, aiming a peck directly for the Growlithe's eye (if it flinched, it would likely land amongst the forehead or the side of the face). Oh, how it would feel good to punish this fiery dog for being such an anchor to her flying... and speaking of which, where was this dog's fire, anyway?
Once the Swablu saw the dog drop, the flying Pokemon kept her same elevation, looking directly at the tense Growlithe with a new-found look of fury on its face... finally, she was getting into the battle, apparent by the use of a threatening growl in an attempt to intimidate the Growlithe.
<Well... at least we're not wasting the judge's time...>
For the trainers, this was turning into more of a passive sport, watching two Pokemon battle as they would in the wild. To this extent, Ami focused as much as she could on the battle... to distract herself from the freaking indecent advances of the other trainer.
Swablu used Peck, then Growl!

Kourier yipped as the Swablu pecked at her. She wagged her tail once as she held her grip, staring the creature down. Suddenly, she released that its attack had managed to peck her right above her right eye. Again she yipped and let go, falling to the floor and loosing her balance a bit as she tried to catch herself. She barely kept her face from smashing into the ground while three of her legs managed to keep her face up. She again growled at her new found mortal enemy as she tried to decide what to do next. Not that she had many options. Bite or Roar.
Running in a circle as she kept her right eye closed, her depth perception was now off. Not that it was really the best to begin with. She ran back toward Emmett, who cheered her on and forward, before again spinning around and charging toward the Swablu. Leaping into the air like she had so many times before, she was going to bite it as hard as she could. But man was she feeling tired now. How good a nap sounded right now! Or to curl back up in Emmett's arms. It was a good thing he was so strong! She wondered if he would be able to carry her once she evolved into an Arcanine too. Wouldn't that be awesome?
Looking fondly back at her trainer, she again dropped to the ground. He rolled his eyes and through the use of his hands tried to urge her on some more. She shook her head with another yawn as she looked back up to the Swablu. All those pecks and that astonish had really hurt! She shook out her feet and looked back at Emmett who again urged her forward, so she stepped back toward the Swablu and wagged her tail. He did have a point, if she ever wanted to be an Arcanine, she would have to level up, and she had to battle to do that...

Well, for a low-level battle, this was turning out to be one tiring and brutal affair for both sides. The small-sized Swablu kept her eyes on the wildly-running and circling Growlithe, making little effort to follow, as it became quickly apparent that there was nothing the dog could achieve by running randomly around the arena. Giving a curious chirp, the dog once more charged directly at the small thing, in an effort to bite it as hard as it could!
"Go for the nose!"
With a second approving squeak, the Swablu looked intensely at the charging, angry Growlithe, who made its leap directly for the creature. Going once more for the counter, Swably aimed a peck directly for the center of the dog's sensitive nose, again only putting her feet in danger of the fangs. Though both sides were getting beaten up in these exchanges between the pecks and the bites... well, Swablu had been hitting the head a bit more. Surely that counted for something?
Either way, this battle would surely be winding down in due time... with them being this young, neither side could keep this up forever! On the sidelines, Ami watched the simple battle intensely, still showing his complete disinterest towards the smelly man across the arena... and man, did he smell...

Emmett again raised his eye brows toward the girl in a proagitive way. Man was he awesome. And now that Kourier was battling, well she would sure have to agree with him! There was no doubt about that! He fixed his sunglasses and gave her a cocky smile before looking back toward the battle. Little Kourier was trying her hardest by this point, haning from the pokemon as long as she could before it pecked her in the nose! Emmett's eyes widened (not that anyone could tell thanks to his sun glasses) and he watched the dog pokemon squeak before it looked fondly back at him.
However, as the pain from her nose set it, it was only a moment before she was again crying. Rubbing her paws over her face, she looked back toward the Swablu, another low growl emitting from her jaws in anger. She started out angrily toward the pokemon once more, before her tiredness finally set in full force. With a yawn, she stopped midleap and dropped back to the ground. Flopping onto her back, she closed her eyes and opened her mouth, allowing her tongue to loll, almost touching the floor. Her paws batted the air and it seemed as if she were falling asleep! Emmett growled at her in disgust as the pokemon decided to end the battle herself. She was tired of this.
Her paws continued to bat the air as she seemed to be snoring! "Ugh, whatever! We're done," Emmett rumbled from across the field. "You win!" He withdrew the fire type pokemon and rolled his eyes. Well now this girl would never like him! Looking angrily at the pokeball of the sleeping Growlithe, he clipped it back to his belt. Well, enough of this! He would just try and talk to the other trainer later, another time, when he did not look like such a fool. He shook his head and looked around, before deciding to just leave now. Heading back, he was done for today. Or at least done for today with that fool of a pokemon. The only way he would ever be able to level her up would be rare candies and the day care!
OoC|| You win ^^ Swablu gets two levels, Growlithe gets one... haha. Thanks for the battle. Next time, I'll battle with a less derpy pokemon and it can be more of a real battle? xD I just love derpy little Kourier. <3
