Upon narrow shoulders a feline napped between breaths, pitching back a yawn as his eyes fluttered dreamily towards the flowers below. Gosh, he was such a sucker for pretty things, plants included, although he preferred the nice, sweet smelling female pokemon better. Still...wildflowers outside of the city were nice to appreciate. He knew Braids would have thought the same way, such was outer beauty. He mewed sleepily into his trainer's ear, tail brushing against the man's chin as he walked casually down a sidewalk path out of the city, circling the outer skirts where the flora was much more prominent.
His camera was lifted towards his face, the device still as he focused on a passing Patrat foraging a few yards away. It scurried back to its burrow when it caught wind of it, but only after a few harmless shots were taken. After his last run in with a Patrat, Meowth detested the small rodents, his predatory bent boiling whenever he spotted one, but this time, he allowed it to slide. He was much more intent on soaking up some sun than chasing after a pathetic rat pokemon.
He meowed once more, ears twitching as they came to a fork in the road, both sides framed by wildflowers and a couple of benches sitting parallel to the roads. Which way would they go...Shrugging, and tipping the cat pokemon to the side, decided to go left as he pushed passed the sunlight into a dappled area where it was more shady, large trees hanging overhead.

Hunting patrats had become Volta's new favorite pastime. While his more wounded pokemon were still recovering from the noctus battle, the emolga had lounged about doing more or less nothing. Sometimes she hit the streets, lifting wallets and purses to her heart's content. That couldn't entertain her forever though, so after a while, she'd picked up a hobby for needless violence instead.
The emolga had taken to ranging outside the city proper, obliterating patrats as soon as she spotted them. Griff didn't know what she had against the peering little things, but he didn't really mind her efforts at genocide. Only this time her thundershock flew astray, and Griff did care when her attacks sizzled lightning at harmless bystanders.
The poorly aimed thundershock flew from up high where Volta cruised to strike at a meowth and its owner standing at a crossroads. From where he stood, Griff didn't see if the thundershock had hit or miss, but in either case, this could be awkward--at least it could be for Griff. Volta didn't care in the slightest, but once she caught sight of a distinctly annoyed Griff, she swooped down onto his shoulder. <Molga?> she asked, clearly not seeing a problem.
"I think you hit somebody," Griff said, annoyed. <Molga!> "What, you mistook a meowth for a little brown rat thing with bug eyes?" <...Mol?> Griff couldn't understand her language, he understood a poorly crafted excuse when he heard one. "You can't be serious."
With all due haste, he approached the crossroads as quick as he could to check on the trainer and his pokemon. Griff took a second to effect the persona of a well-meaning, tax-paying, good-hearted citizen rather than a hardened criminal. (Although Griff would argue that even hardened criminals had a reason to feel at least a little bad when their pokemon carelessly shocked people for no reason whatsoever.)
He spoke to the redhead with a sheepish, apologetic smile. "Sorry about that, my emolga... well, she does that sometimes. Are you two alright?" words 330 notes how's that for starting off on the wrong foot? tag cree

His tail dangled leisurely down the man's chest, eyes opened a crack as he kept an eye out for wandering, lonely Patrats he could chase around and make sport of. Rat pokemon were Lucien's cup of tea, or particularly, shredding them with his fangs and or claws. Braids waved away these thoughts as only natural for a feline pokemon - Lucien was a cat, for goodness sakes. He supposed dog affiliated pokemon like Houdour and Lillipup would be interested in chasing around a pokemon like Lucien any day.
They hadn't gotten two steps onto the left path when a sudden thunderstorm erupted above them, only this thunderstorm was focused in a smaller area, aiming shards of lightning all around him, catching on his feet and hair, which immediately spiked uncertainly. The red head awoke from his confident stupor with a soft yelp of surprise, patting down the unkempt strands and brushing them back into place as he turned towards his pokemon in surprise. It seemed Lucien hadn't gotten away untouched by the sparks either: his fur was on end, ear pulled back as he glared towards the source of the storm, eying the Emolga with obvious distaste. Another rat pokemon! It didn't matter if this one had wings or not, and it set the feline into an annoyed humor.
"Learn to control your pokemon, Sir" Came his calm, although irked reply towards the boy's instant sheepishness, casting an apologetic glance towards the red head. That gave him no reason to let the Emolga he had on his shoulder free range of the city. Beside him, the Meowth growled,<Owth! Meeowth.> Indicating that he didn't appreciate to be shocked without provocation and certainly not to do it again if it valued its life.
